It really wasn't that complicated @iainmacwhirter it took me, an amateur journalist, about an hour of research to realise that the narrative being presented by the media and the police did not appear to reflect events. I put it to you that this was a product of the unconcerned class bias and contempt that the educated classes in Britain have for the working class. We live in communities isolated from the reality many face and yet our instinct is to withold the benefit of the doubt from them and we consider the accident of our birth grounds for moral superiority over those less fortunate in the lottery of life, even if some of us will not admit it.
