Everything Bret and Perfect do here is so simple but the execution and psychology is so great, that it makes the match so compelling. Perfect does everything to make Bret look like a million bucks. He might be the best bumping heel of all time.

Perfect did this with a fucked up back too didnt he? Lol

Yup he did. He was out for over a year after this match

They topped this match at The King Of The Ring.

Yeah I love that match every bit as much too

Look how fucking good this Perfect bump is

Is it just me or does the ref call for the bell one second too early?

I saw these two guys wrestle in the late 1980s at a WWF house show—probably the greatest wrestling match of all time. Both were phenomenal wrestlers and athletes.

Bret hitting those turnbuckles like they owed him money. Perfect living up to his name. Classic.

The ONLY negative of this match is The Coach's goddamn whistle the entire match. Everything about this from the pre-match promo to Lord Al brutally cutting Stu off is (pun intended) perfection! Side note, no has ever hit the buckles like Bret. Not before or since. It's violent!

I was 8 years old and in the crowd that night. My mom complained the entire time because there was a light in her eye but I became a lifelong fan that night despite it all. We had to leave before the wedding tho, she didn’t give a fuck about that.

As a kid watching this match it was absolutely amazing. It really was two masters of their craft putting on a masterpiece and they made each other look great. Very few matches have reached that standard.

They’re so great they probably could do it with their eyes closed

Bret selling like Perfect is Prime Tyson here

Just watched the Hogan/ Warrior match from Wrestlemania. Talk about a night and day difference.

Perfect was just so good. From theme song to chewing gum

This is probably a top 5 favourite of all time of mine. It's endlessly rewatchable.

Mr Perfect looking like he slipped in Axle Grease is fantastic

The excellence of execution and Mr Perfect, what else did you expect

This was an excellent match and as part of my first wrestling event I ever watched. I guess ultimately it got me into watching wrestling on and off over the years

Agree. Perfect and DiBiase were both really great heels from that era. I rewatched a lot of the Golden Age wrestling stuff over COVID and, looking at it as an adult, I think Rick Rude got nowhere near the respect he deserved as being a stellar heel and a great worker.

Masters of the game

Two of the greatest to ever do it. The respect level was always evident in their matches.

@breiigha That float-over sleeper is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen

Does anyone hit the turnbuckles harder than Bret....

Mr. Perfect was so good man. It was unfair.

How long before did Bobby Heenan stop managing perfect ? I never understood how Coach came about

Heenan pretty much stopped managing all together in ‘91, so it wouldn’t have been all that long before this

You can't watch this and with a straight face still call the modern shit wrestling

I was gifted a bootleg DVD with Mr. Perfect's best matches when I was 11 and getting into wrestling from before I watched and this was the first match I saw on it and it changed how I thought about wrestling forever

There's like 10 matches that "technical"(and I use that term loosely" wrestlers today should watch and learn from and this is one of them

I was at Kurt’s very first WWWE match where he tagged with Eddie Gilbert and went against the Wild Samoans!

How are we supposed to care about the current product when we grew up watching this?

Curt Hennig was so damn good.

Nobody sold the Atomic Drop better than Mr. Perfect.

Even better with Heenan doing commentary

I love the spot where Bret snatches him back into the headlock

Some would say he’s ….Perfect…
