Privatisation was touted as a way to reduce bills for the consumer. All it did was create from state owned assets monopolies which collude to keep prices high instead. Capitalism became neoliberalism, state subsidy of private capital, and taxation shifted onto consumer/worker.

We have public sector pension liabilities of over £2 trillion. The public sector is what’s wrong with this country, primarily the NHS. We should learn from European countries that use a mix of private/public healthcare.

Ash is on the money. She is a great communicator. Ash is able to explain in short, easy to understand terms and examples why privatisation does not benefit the public.

Privatisation of essential services such as power is insane. Government should run all essential services and utilities. We made the same mistake in Australia.
