No lyrics nor music on Showgirl is "cringey" to me. It's 1970's influenced R&B. A few tunes I am not crazy about...but don't hate. The Encore tunes are typical Taylor in my opine (with Cleveland being purposely calling certain folks out...which again, is typical Taylor😅)!!!

... I dislike the backing tracks more than the lyrical execution, but I'm kinda picky when it comes to liking a pop song. Despite listening to all of it, I very rarely give the it stamp of my approval.

I agree. I ignored Showgirl upon release but following the impressive stats feat, I gave it a try and I loved it. Bought the CD months later, then Encore came out and the last 4 songs are the most streamed songs in my library for October. Bury me with this album.
