Here the students were demanding justification on the grounds of the paper leak only but not about the grace marks or anything else, because it was listed on 1st June before results. Our PIL will be listed tomorrow. It is regarding the paper leak as well as the grace marks, the transparencies of NTA and everything else. For today's listing, the Supreme Court said that the sanctity of the exam is compromised that means somewhere they also feel that there have been some kind of issues in the examination and asked NTA to answer this before 8 July but they have not given any relief on the counselling..."

The Candidates who appeared for the WBPSC Exam for getting recruited to the post of Food & Supplies Service Sub-Inspector have been raising their voice against the West Bengal Public Service Commission for quite some time now. Their allegation is that Exam conducted conducted in the month of March 2024 was marred by various irregularities including the examination paper getting leaked before the exam. They are also complaining that every time the exam is being held, the number of vacant posts get lesser. As the Leader of the Opposition, I am extending my support to their rightful agitation and would like to assure them of any help, including getting them access to the best legal support available in the future. The State of West Bengal has repeatedly failed to conduct any and every recruitment exam properly, which result in stress & anxiety for the eligible candidates.

The mosque in Balgaddy is the 2nd mosque sdcc have approved in the last year. The one in Lucan village was appealed to An Coimisiún Pleanála and overturned as the zoning was wrong (in other words it should never have been approved in the first place). Now some residents of Balgaddy are fundraising to appeal the approval of the 2nd mosque. I fully support them in their endeavours and hope they get the same result as Lucan village. Most of the funds have already been raised but if anyone would like to donate you can do so here and thanks on behalf of the residents of Balgaddy 🙏

Nine years ago, S Anitha became the first victim of NEET in Tamil Nadu, and one of the most prominent faces of Tamil Nadu’s fight against NEET. In 2017, the 17-year-old from Ariyalur had scored 1,176 out of 1,200 marks in her Class 12 Tamil Nadu State Board exams. Her medical cut-off score was 196.75 out of 200 — marks that would have placed her among medical aspirants under Tamil Nadu’s earlier admission system. But that year, NEET became mandatory for medical admissions. Anitha, who had prepared through the state-board syllabus, could not secure a medical seat through the national entrance exam. She became one of the earliest voices opposing NEET in Tamil Nadu, arguing that a common entrance test would disadvantage students from rural areas, government schools and marginalised communities. Anitha’s brother S. Manirathnam, who has now joined the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Delhi, says her fight was deeply personal. He says Anitha was raised by their father, a daily wage labourer, after their mother died when she was seven. He recalls that Anitha wanted to become a doctor because their mother’s death due to an illness had shaped her dream of entering medicine. “She wanted to become a doctor because she had seen the suffering caused by the lack of medical care,” Manirathnam said, recalling his sister’s journey. Anitha joined the legal battle against NEET and became one of the petitioners before the Supreme Court, seeking relief for Tamil Nadu students. The Court did not grant the exemption sought by the state, and days later, on 1 September 2017, Anitha died by suicide at her home in Ariyalur. California has become so unaffordable that last year, one in four community college students reported homelessness and 10% of state school students reported homelessness. — What you're seeing here is years of failed state policies when it's so expensive or difficult to build housing in the state. These are people trying to pursue a higher education with whatever means they can, even in these conditions, to hopefully obtain a better life. — Over the past two years, two bills have been introduced to make this a statewide program required at all communities community and state colleges” “California is one of the best places on Earth, but you know it's been a bad few years when your state's best solutions to its problems start looking dystopian”

I have seen so many heartbreaking videos of students crying and wailing because they were not allowed to enter the exam center for being just one minute late. One minute. That’s it. why can’t there be a grace period of a few minutes? Is it really fair to destroy an entire year of hard work, and possibly a student’s future, over such a small delay? What on earth will actually go wrong if a late student is allowed in? At the same time, Students should know how important these exams are. They should plan better, think of traffic, delays, and reach early. This exam can decide their career so shouldn’t they treat it with that seriousness Still, rules without humanity feel cruel. Discipline matters, yes but where is the compassion? When students are breaking down at the gate, it’s not just about rules anymore. It’s about empathy, balance, and common sense. There has to be a better middle ground.

#WATCH | Delhi: On CBSE OSM issue, Aparajita Gautam from Delhi Parents Association says, "... After the 12th board exams, and CBSE results, their future is decided.. Because of shortcomings in OSM (On-Screen Marking), many parents and children are disappointed. Students don’t just prepare in Class 12; they’ve been working for years, knowing their future depends on it. Students remain focused on competitive exams like JEE and NEET. But due to OSM, many didn’t achieve the required marks, causing stress for families and children. Now, they question why this was introduced suddenly without a proper test run. On social media, students are voicing complaints, though not all reach us directly, but the frustration is clear. If you check CBSE’s Facebook page, you’ll see countless complaints. The official figure says 6.5 lakh students raised objections, but I believe the number should be far higher. Out of 18 lakh students, 12 lakh are from government schools, many in rural areas. If metro city students with laptops struggled, imagine the difficulties faced by rural children with limited access... Training was rushed, with follow-ups missing. Teachers had to log in and practise with sample papers, yet no one verified whether they actually did. Another issue: papers were supposed to be checked by PGT teachers, but due to shortages, TGT teachers were involved. We all know that sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach, the panic, helplessness, and regret. That's why this video is so painful to watch. These students missed their NEET after getting stuck in a political rally in Bengaluru. Many would argue that since it wasn't their fault, they should have been allowed to enter. After all, they wouldn't have gained any advantage, they would simply have had less time to write the exam. I understand that sentiment. It comes from a place of empathy, and that's a good thing. But large public exams cannot be run purely on emotions. They require clear, objective, and uniformly enforced rules. The purpose of a reporting-time cutoff isn't to punish late candidates; it's to ensure that every candidate is treated according to the same standard. Once exceptions begin, the rule itself loses meaning. Why allow someone 5 minutes late but not 15? Why make an exception for one reason and not another? Imagine the chaos at thousands of exam centre if you leave entry time to discretion! In exams involving lakhs of candidates, fairness lies not in evaluating individual circumstances but in applying the same rule to everyone without discretion. To add, centers are designed to complete security checks, identity verification, seating, and other protocols before the process begins; late admissions create operational and security complications and undermine confidence in the integrity of the exam. It's heartbreaking for the students. One can sympathize with them and still accept that the authorities were right to enforce the cutoff.
