End of an era. Nearly six years ago, trent.sol and I were sitting in Greg Fitzgerald 🦀 's basement ordering computer parts on Newegg to hand-build the first metal validators for Solana. Mainnet was still a ways away, hardware and network requirements were unknown, docs, tools and best practices were nonexistent. Even Testnet was barely more than a periodic bringup of a handful of cloud VMs. Our tiny but mighty early validator community were basically all on a first name basis with one another. A few months later, Trent and I, along with a couple other early Solana Labs employees, racked the resulting 7 machines in a data center in Denver. These were the first ever colocated nodes to serve Solana. In early 2020, we used these glowing green machines to help serve the genesis block and launch Solana Mainnet into the world. Today, the data center that houses them is shutting down. Trent and I went over this morning to tear out the rack to discover we were the last remaining tenants in a now otherwise abandoned facility, with apparently a single staff member left on hand. It was a little emotional for me to see these shut down, even though they haven't been active on the network for a very long time, having been repurposed for development work a while back. It's always humbling to reflect on how far Solana has come in so little time - taking down a handful of old, wonky hand-assembled boxes from the genesis days and considering today's huge global reach of the network, the devs, the products, and especially, all of you. Thank you all for being along with us on the wildest ride.

We built an entire school fully funded using Solana. After crowdfunding ~$50,000 in SPLs a few months ago, we finally opened the doors of our first-ever school here in Indonesia. None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of the entire Solana ecosystem. Money works a little differently in this world, but generosity moves at the same pace. The goal behind Telaga Charity was always simple: Take some shitcoin profits from CT and use it to do good in a way that helps show the positive that Crypto is capable of accomplishing. If this were a traditional charity, raising this amount of money would've taken months or years, but we did this entire raise in just a few days. Not only that, but this school has a custom mural donated by the Okay Bears team 👌 Thank you to everyone who contributed to this incredible goal, we'll be sharing updates periodically on this schools growth, so follow @ telagacharity to see what else your donations are doing for these kids. Why? Because it just never felt right I know that with us endorsing this, people are going to call us grifters. But guess what? Fuck those niggas Autism and retarded coins transitioned from Ethereum to Solana this cycle, where they evolved into something amazing, driven by pure creativity We chose to support this coin instead of launching something new and bundling 80% of the supply. Today I'm excited to share Sigilum! This is Payman's solution for Auditable Identity for AI Agents. (think One Password-ish but for AI Agents) I recorded a quick walkthrough showing how it all works (video below). This answers three pains we've seen within Financial Services (Banking) AI Agents we've built and OpenClaw🦞 AI Agents we deploy. Security, Auditability, and Control. 1. Security Making sure keys are secure and not just freely given to an AI Agent is a big deal. When working with money, you can't just expose these or skip putting controls in place. Sigilum provides a local gateway that prevents access to keys by the AI Agent without explicit authorization from a person. We provide namespaces through the service so you always know who authorized what key, for what service, to which agent. 2. Auditability If I could hit on the importance of this 100 times I would. (think One Password-ish but for AI Agents) I recorded a quick walkthrough showing how it all works (video below). Security Making sure keys are secure and not just freely given to an AI Agent is a big deal. When working with money, you can't just expose these or skip putting controls in place. Alright, now it’s time for us to get back to the story. I wanna share my personal experience trading memecoins (and some utility plays) on Solana over the past 1 year and 4 months. Before that, I was pretty active on Ethereum since around 2020. So what made me switch to Solana ? It started when someone from my private group pointed out the potential of Solana, the speed, the low fees, and how early the ecosystem still felt at the time. Funny thing is, I actually heard about Solana when it was already at $80, but I didn’t really touch it until it hit around $100, and I started with 20 SOL as capital. It was sometime around February 2024 (don’t remember the exact date), when I first tried trading memecoins on Solana. Back then, wasn’t even popping yet, most devs were still launching manually. No fancy bots, no real token scanners, just pure risk. ( Correct me if I’m wrong about when first launched. ) Honestly, in the beginning, it was tough. New tokens popping up every second, rugs left and right, Solana was in hype mode, and everyone wanted to launch something. But by April, things started to click. I was finally making profits trading Solana coins, memecoins, lowcap utilities, all that. If I compare it to now, I’d say it was way easier back then to catch early entries. Not even exaggerating, 100x plays were way more common. I will put sneak peek of some of my PnL from my personal channel, Of course, it’s not as simple anymore with today’s market; Bundles everywhere, token farming systems, launch metas changing fast… Back then? It was cleaner. Simpler. Honestly, better. Through all this, I’ve always had one dream: To help people who are truly serious about learning the game. The private markets didn’t have a purpose-built AI agent for portfolio analysis, so we decided to build one. Today, I’m excited to announce the launch of Standard Metrics’ AI Analyst. When we first launched a portfolio-company-specific agent last year, it was an experiment: would investors trust AI to answer questions and provide reporting and analytics for an individual portfolio company? The answer turned out to be a resounding yes. The missing piece was portfolio-wide analysis to answer broader queries like “which of my companies have accelerating revenue growth?” or “create a report of our companies in Europe that are getting low on runway.” These types of analyses are now possible in seconds with our new AI Analyst, which allows for multi-company, portfolio-wide questions across quantitative and qualitative data on Standard Metrics. It’s been incredibly rewarding working with a small set of Beta customers to hone the analyst before today’s release. Many use cases have already emerged, including monitoring risks, creating materials for follow-on investment decisions, and summarizing portfolio performance for LPs. The AI Analyst was a labor of love across every department at Standard Metrics. We’re just getting started and continuing to invest aggressively in new capabilities. The private markets didn’t have a purpose-built AI agent for portfolio analysis, so we decided to build one. Today, I’m excited to announce the launch of Standard Metrics’ AI Analyst. When we first launched a portfolio-company-specific agent last year, it was an experiment: would investors trust AI to answer questions and provide reporting and analytics for an individual portfolio company? The answer turned out to be a resounding yes. The missing piece was portfolio-wide analysis to answer broader queries like “which of my companies have accelerating revenue growth?” or “create a report of our companies in Europe that are getting low on runway.” These types of analyses are now possible in seconds with our new AI Analyst, which allows for multi-company, portfolio-wide questions across quantitative and qualitative data on Standard Metrics. It’s been incredibly rewarding working with a small set of Beta customers to hone the analyst before today’s release. Many use cases have already emerged, including monitoring risks, creating materials for follow-on investment decisions, and summarizing portfolio performance for LPs.
