Twelve days after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, the conflict appears to be heading toward a prolonged and uncertain phase. Did Donald Trump miscalculate Iran’s response? And is Washington now struggling to find a face-saving exit from a war that seems to have no clear endgame? As tensions escalate between Iran, the United States, and Israel, the global economic consequences are becoming increasingly visible. Oil prices have surged and the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy shipping routes; has become a major flashpoint. Nearly 90% of India’s imported LPG passes through this route, raising concerns about fuel shortages and rising energy costs. Experts warn that the conflict could trigger one of the worst global energy supply crises in decades. In this episode of India & The World on DeKoder, Senior Journalist Nidhi Razdan speaks with former diplomat Jawed Ashraf and political scientist Christopher Clary to examine: • Did the US misjudge Iran’s military and political resolve? • Why does the war appear to have no clear exit strategy? • How are oil markets and global supply chains being affected? • What does this crisis mean for India’s energy security and diplomacy? Watch the full discussion as we DeKode the geopolitical, economic, and strategic implications of a war that is reshaping global politics. #IranIsraelWar #Trump #Geopolitics #OilCrisis #StraitOfHormuz #IndiaEnergy #MiddleEastConflict #IndiaAndTheWorld #DeKoder #IndiaandTheWorld #IranUS #FuelCrisis #WorldAffairs #Trump #LPGcrisis

This is a crucial point on Iran by Chas Freeman, the former US Assistant Secretary of Defense and, relevant to the topic, former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia (also, incidentally, one of the very rare former senior US officials who's a genuinely thoughtful diplomat as opposed to a sociopathic neocon). What Freeman explains is that Iran's control of Hormuz, which Trump implicitly admitted is beyond the US's ability to contest (by saying in his speech it's not his problem to solve, that "others" should deal with it), will necessarily lead to a reshaping of the regional order in Iran's favor. As Freeman says, "the Gulf Arabs have no alternative but to negotiate with Iran because they cannot survive indefinitely with the Strait of Hormuz closed to their exports." Meanwhile, countries like China, India, Japan, and Turkey have already worked out transit agreements with Tehran - de-facto recognizing Iranian authority over the strait. In effect, Iranian control of Hormuz is now a fait accompli: they control the valve on the single largest concentration of hydrocarbon exports on earth. This is a long-term reality with immense implications. In fact it's such a massive long-term win for Iran that the way the war may ironically be remembered by history is Trump giving Tehran the ideal casus belli to seize control of Hormuz - something the world would have never accepted had they done it unprovoked. It remains to be seen how the war ends - if it ends at all - but this may end up proving even more valuable to Iran than nuclear weapons. For instance, as Freeman points out, one of the conditions Iran set for Hormuz passage is an end to sanctions and hostility toward them. The logical endpoint is the collapse of the entire sanctions regime - Iran trading openly with the world (save, presumably, for the US and Israel), without having to make any guarantees on its nuclear program. In other words Trump tore up the JCPOA calling it "the worst deal in history," and his war may have replaced it with something infinitely more favorable to Tehran. Source for the whole video (worth a watch in its entirety as are all of Freeman's talks):

When President Trump talks about a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a way to "kill Iran's economy," we need to remember who stands behind Iran's resilience. Above all, it is China, and not only as a buyer of oil, but as a strategic partner that benefits from Iran remaining a destabilizing force in the Middle East. Russia, of course, as well, but Russia is bogged down in Ukraine. Iran is a tool. For China, Iran serves one simple purpose: to keep the Middle East in a state of chronic instability, which costs the US money, attention, and reputation. ◾️ First, the Iran war is pulling American potential away from Asia right now. The US has deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group, two destroyers, two naval task forces, and Patriot and THAAD systems to the Middle East, depleting its stockpile of Tomahawk cruise missiles, which are critical for a potential Taiwan scenario. ◾️ Second, the crisis translates into a blow to the American authority and concessions. Every Middle Eastern war weakens the trust of Asian allies in the United States. Japan and South Korea are already experiencing delays in deliveries of ordered US weapons. Taiwan is watching as Washington trades off its security for the sake of a summit with Beijing: Trump delayed a multi-billion-dollar arms package to Taiwan so as not to jeopardize the summit with President Xi. ◾️ Third, China is the sole beneficiary of the oil blockade of Iran. Despite sanctions, Iran earned $54 billion in 2022 and $53 billion in 2023. Where does this oil go? To China. More than 90% of Iranian oil exports are absorbed by the Chinese market, primarily through networks of small independent oil refineries in Shandong province. The scheme is worked out down to the last detail. Iranian tankers turn off their transponders, transfer oil "ship-to-ship" off the coast of Malaysia, relabel the cargo as Malaysian or Indonesian, and settle payments in yuan through small banks outside the dollar infrastructure. In 2025, these shadow tankers made over 1,500 voyages from Iran to China. ◾️ Fourth, Iran is increasingly serving as a testing ground for China's indirect military-technical support. According to US officials, the Chinese company SMIC supplied Iranian military structures with equipment for chip production and, likely, technical training. Ships carrying sodium perchlorate - a key component of solid rocket fuel - were set to depart from Chinese ports. Iran was also nearing a deal to purchase Chinese CM-302 supersonic anti-ship missiles, which pose a direct threat to US ships in the Gulf. And US intelligence is now recording possible preparations to transfer MANPADS to Iran via third countries. Some claims regarding deeper support, particularly concerning BeiDou and Chinese air defense systems, remain disputed, but the overall direction is clear: China is helping Iran not only survive under pressure but also raise the cost of the US military presence in the region. Therefore, a US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is not pointless in terms of pressuring Iran, as it could physically cut off a significant portion of exports that ultimately go to China. But it is a crude instrument: it hurts not only Iran and China, but the entire energy system of the region, global prices, and US allies. That is precisely why this move is both powerful and strategically toxic.

SCOTT RITTER'S SHOCKING REVELATION: IRAN'S UNSTOPPABLE MISSILES EXPOSED Former UN weapons inspector and US Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter breaks down Iran's missile breakthrough in a stunning analysis. He reveals how a prior 12-day war gave Iran the edge to dismantle advanced defenses across the Middle East. This exposes massive vulnerabilities in global security, leaving experts questioning everything. IRAN'S MISSILE MASTERSTROKE ➡️ Before, Iran needed drone swarms to overwhelm defenses—now, single missiles slip through effortlessly. ➡️ Ritter explains: The 12-day war was Iran's intel goldmine, studying US and Israeli shields like THAAD and Aegis. A fact that Prof. Marandi Seyed Mohammad Marandi repeatedly emphasised at the time. ➡️ They dissected radar links, F-35 feeds, and unified systems, turning data into unbeatable tactics. THE CODE CRACKED ➡️ "These are some of the smartest people in the world," Ritter says, noting Iran's drone hijacks like the Beast of Kandahar. ➡️ At war's end, precise "leaker" missiles hit every target, forcing Netanyahu's shaky truce call to Trump. ➡️ No mass attacks needed now—just superior tech that evades hunters, striking Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Israel, and more. DEFENSE FAILURE EXPOSED ➡️Casualties mount, including American military in Bahrain, as Iranian missiles overwhelm. ➡️ Ritter warns: This mirrors a US-Russia clash, but with nuclear risks—"Missile defenses don't work." ➡️A $1.5 trillion US defense budget? "An empty fraud," he declares, swamped by Iran's precision. THE SILVER LINING ➡️ Nobody wanted this war, but US humiliation could spark arms control over failed "Golden Dome" pursuits. 🔄 Ritter predicts: "This is the end of the Trump administration," demanding a diplomacy rethink. THE BOTTOM LINE Iran's tech triumph shatters defense illusions, urging a shift from spending to smart peace. Adapt now, or face irreversible global threats. Long read: Iran is a victim of decades of injustice perpetrated by the US and the UK in an effort to control Irans oil. They couped the democratically elected leader of Iran in 1953 and installed a US puppet until the Iranian revolution in 1979. Over 500,000 Iranians have died in the US-Iraq war against Iran. Even more died because of US sanctions. Iran is not a terrorist state. Iran has been forced to defend itself against regime change efforts and colonial aggression from the US and their satellites in the Middle East. The Iranians should be applauded for aiding the Palestinian people in their struggle against the illegal occupation by Israel and decades of injustice, theft and dehumanization. Iran has a long history of standing up to bullies. The Persians have fought the Romans, the Turks and the Mongols. Survival is deeply encoded in the Iranian DNA. A war with Iran would be a massive miscalculation by Israel and the US. Iran has prepared for this war. It has a formidable army and a significant arsenal of long range ballistic and hypersonic missiles. Russia and China would support Iran in a war against the US and Israel. Ukraine in reverse. With the big difference that the US can never defeat Iran unlike Russia which is currently destroying the Ukrainian army and its NATO equipment in the US proxy war. The Rand corporation should have titled its infamous warmongering research paper more accurately: ‘Overextending and Unbalancing America and the EU.’ A war against Iran would result in an acceleration of the inevitable decline of US empire and the destruction of Israel. The risk of Israel utilizing nuclear weapons against Iran is significant. It would not lead to victory but to global condemnation and punishment against the Jewish people. Whoever is in charge of the US Govt right now should establish urgent client control and stop the mass murdering war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו before it’s too late. Jews everywhere should demand the resignation of this lunatic for the purpose of self preservation. Watch the video below to understand that the so called ‘terrorists’ in Iran are simply the victims of endless bullying and deserve nothing but respect from any fair minded person. Resisting evil bullies who want to steal your natural resources is not terrorism.

🚨BREAKING: Donald Trump says Iran has OPENED the Strait of Hormuz, but US🇺🇸 hegemony may have taken a fatal hit After over a month and a half of devastating war unleashed on Iran by the US and Israel, the destabilisation of the GCC, and a brutal energy shock experienced by the entire world, at last an agreement has been reached between the US and Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. While Donald Trump will paint this as 'winning like you've never seen it before' in a 'mission accomplished moment', the exact opposite is true. The original goals of the war were categorically not accomplished. Billions were wasted to replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei. The mass uprisings are still nowhere to be seen, and Iran appears more unified than ever. No repeat of the Syria scenario. After Pete Hegseth's press conferences, with a permanent scowl on his face, announcing 'the next day of strikes will be the hardest yet', almost daily, for weeks on end, it was blatantly obvious that the most powerful military in the history of the world could not defeat Iran, a middle power in comparison. Despite the tens of thousands of strikes by the US and Israel, Iran was still firing missiles and drones on a daily basis, and only the beginning of negotiations could make Iran cease fire. Its drone and missile capabilities were not obliterated...that much is obvious. Despite Hegseth and Trump declaring time and time again that Iran's Navy was at the bottom of the ocean, the Strait of Hormuz remained shut...because Iran did not need aircraft carriers, frigates, or any warships to keep it shut. Threats, drones, missiles, and risk were enough to halt traffic and make insurance costs spiral out of control. Even more alarmingly, Iran has realised that it perhaps does not need a nuclear weapon when it can control the Strait of Hormuz. We were perhaps just weeks away from an all-out global economic depression, the threat of which forced Donald Trump to return urgently to the negotiating table. The global backlash against the United States for launching a disastrous, reckless war of choice and then trying to impose the costs on the entire world, will not be forgotten. The entire global south views the US as a dangerous rogue state, whose desperation to save its hegemony poses a direct threat to everyone. China🇨🇳 once again had to do absolutely nothing and let Washington embarrass itself in front of the entire world. China looks like the responsible actor that stands for a stable international order of commerce and development, the US looks like an out-of-control rogue state that stands for war and destruction. Russia🇷🇺 gained massive windfalls from higher energy prices, and Washington's actions once again proved to the global south that what Moscow had been saying about US hegemony was right all along. This wasn't the US' victory moment; it was the US' Suez moment. US hegemony will accelerate in its decline from here on out. More countries of the world will increasingly turn to China, BRICS will consolidate, and its economic rise is unstoppable. Iran did not collapse, and forced the most powerful nation in the history of the world to the negotiating table. A catastrophic embarrassment, stemming from a needless war of choice.

IRAN WAR DISASTER: US HEADED FOR HUMILIATING DEFEAT In this explosive interview, decorated combat veteran Colonel Douglas McGregor pulls no punches on the escalating US-Iran conflict that's already spiraling into a regional catastrophe. With oil prices surging and key bases under siege, he reveals how Israel's surprise attack has backfired spectacularly, forcing America into a prolonged nightmare. Buckle up—this isn't the quick win Trump expected, and the global fallout could reshape the world order forever. THE REGIONAL MELTDOWN ➡️ Iranians have hammered 27 bases from Incirlik to Dubai, shutting down ports, refineries, and airports with cheap drones overpowering billion-dollar defenses. ➡️ Oil markets jumped 20% overnight, barreling toward $100+ as supplies choke—global economies are reeling. ➡️ Millions stranded in the Gulf, including 4.6 million Indians vital to UAE's economy, as chaos cripples international business hubs. US AND ISRAEL'S FATAL MISSTEPS ➡️ Israel kicked off the war solo, catching the US off guard—now we're losing F-15s, sailors, and credibility in a missile barrage we can't sustain. ➡️ Logistics nightmare: Ports destroyed, forcing resupplies from India or Italy; we've burned through missiles supporting Ukraine, facing Iran's 450,000-strong arsenal. ➡️ Hypersonic missiles at Mach 5+ evade our tech, with decoys fooling defenses—McGregor warns we're exhausting faster than we can replenish. GLOBAL RAMIFICATIONS ➡️ Europe stays sidelined, knowing Iran poses no real threat; but Russia, China, and India watch closely—this hurts BRICS and Belt and Road. ➡️ Dollar's tanking, de-dollarization accelerating; Sykes-Picot era ends as Gulf dictatorships teeter and maps redraw. ➡️ If Israel goes nuclear, expect Russian-Chinese intervention—pushing us to the brink of global war. IRAN'S EDGE AND US BLUNDERS ➡️ Iran survives by enduring, growing stronger the longer this drags; no regime change in sight for this ancient civilization of 93 million. ➡️ McGregor slams "stupid" rhetoric on terrorism—real threats are in Pakistan and Syria, not Persia, where people rally against us. ➡️ Killing the Supreme Leader made him a martyr, unifying Iran; we've projected our values onto a foe we don't understand. THE PATH TO DEFEAT ➡️ No strategy beyond bombing; Trump follows Netanyahu's lead, but exhaustion looms—financial crisis brewing with rising bond yields. ➡️ Allies like Korea and Japan question US might; we're sacrificing our position for Israel, a pariah state amid Gaza horrors. ➡️ Victory for Iran is mere survival—we look weak, inviting ignominious retreat from the region. THE BOTTOM LINE This isn't just a war—it's the death knell for American hegemony, with Iran emerging stronger while we pay the ultimate price. America's invincibility myth shatters as a new multipolar world rises from the ashes. 🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸🇮🇱 IRAN'S STRAIT OF HORMUZ STRANGLEHOLD AND WHY THIS WAR CAN'T END Dimitri just got a journalist visa to Iran. He's heading there tomorrow But before he leaves, we sat down to talk about where this war is heading. His answer: nowhere good. Iran holds the trump card and it's the Strait of Hormuz. All they have to do is sink a few tankers and insurance companies won't cover the risk. The global economy hangs by a thread. Iran's demands: US military withdrawal from the Gulf, $25B in reparations, guarantees this never happens again. The US and Israel are still looking for capitulation. There's no overlap. None. The US is hoping the suffering will break Iran, but Dimitri says the Iranian people lost hundreds of thousands in the Iran-Iraq War. 3,000 deaths is nothing compared to what they can endure. He also dismantles the idea that Israel controls US foreign policy. The real winners? The military-industrial complex and oil industry making out like bandits. His warning: serious escalation with catastrophic consequences is the only path forward he can see. Watch the full interview with Dimitri Lascaris below. 02:07 - This is a war of attrition and Iran holds the trump card: the Strait of Hormuz 05:19 - No overlap at all between US-Israel and Iran's positions, both want capitulation 07:11 - Iran respected Obama's nuclear deal, US pulled out, now we're at war 09:54 - Iran held back before, this time they're not stopping 13:25 - Bombing civilians hardens people to the aggressor, Iran won't get more moderate 15:30 - Three reasons Hezbollah still has rockets and China isn't one of them 18:02 - Hezbollah was born out of the 1982 Israeli occupation, didn't precede it 22:49 - Hezbollah wasn't the aggressor, Israel was already occupying Lebanese land 25:12 - Israel is a giant US military base masquerading as a country 27:41 - Military-industrial complex and oil industry are the ones profiting from endless war 30:27 - Kharg Island ground invasion would be a suicide mission within artillery range

🇺🇸 TRUMP’S 4D CHESS TO PROTECT THE DOLLAR! Let’s look at the cold hard benefits for the US in the Middle East chaos! → Trump is protecting the dollar by breaking BRICS! BRICS pushes hard for de-dollarization, trading in local currencies — obviously bad for the US. Bluntly: if people stop using the dollar worldwide for trade, the US can no longer print money freely, and can’t sanction anyone anymore properly. -> Trump vowed to fight BRICS (video 1). BRICS members are important: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Indonesia. (Note: war now also between BRICS members.) Over recent years these countries increased trade with China and among themselves in local currencies and grew closer. (Picture 4) This unity threatens the dollar and US dominance, so the first move is to fracture it. The steps: 1) Pull Arab countries closer to the US with big deals. Trump used 2025 to strengthen economic ties and sign huge agreements with rich Gulf states. They are bound to the US again. This after Biden pushed them away and really breaking the relations. 2) Gain control over Venezuela’s oil. This unlocked massive previously untapped reserves the US can use immediately, while controlling all revenue and sales. (video 2) Crude move, but it makes sense in hindsight. Now the US has access to huge oil reserves and no longer depends on the Middle East. Key point! After shielding itself from oil price shocks and securing enough supply at chosen prices, next step: 3) Break BRICS unity! Iran long threatened to attack US Gulf bases and even the states themselves for aiding strikes on Iran. In 2025 Iran, Saudi Arabia and UAE joined BRICS and aligned closely with China. In 2026 Iran bombs Saudi Arabia and UAE, while the US defends them. China backs Iran. → BRICS fractures back into China-aligned vs US-aligned camps. BRICS countries fight each other now. 4) As oil prices explode, the US sells its own and Venezuelan oil in large volumes. Europe is screwed again: Russian oil/gas banned, Middle East deliveries halted. → They must now buy at exorbitant prices from the USA. This could even redirect global energy flows. Summary: BRICS broken, dollar protected, oil sales generate extra revenue, and half the Middle East once again needs US protection. If this is the plan, it’s far from stupid. It would significantly strengthen US hegemony — at least for a while. PS: From this perspective attacking Saudi and UAE facilities to drag them into the war, benefits the US.

IRAN'S MILITARY NIGHTMARE FOR THE U.S.: PERSIAN GULF WAR WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC Professor Marandi delivers a stark warning: any U.S. military move against Iran risks unleashing hell in the Persian Gulf, where Tehran has spent decades building overwhelming firepower specifically aimed at American forces and global energy lifelines. IRAN'S RESPONSE: READY FOR WAR ✅ Iran has prepared for decades with defenses directed squarely at the United States, not just Israel. 🔥 The bulk of its arsenal—short-range and medium-range missiles, massive drone swarms, and underwater drones—is positioned to strike Persian Gulf targets and U.S. bases within minutes. 🌊 Professor Marandi warns: "Iran can stop oil and gas trade from the Caucasus to the Red Sea... leading to a global economic meltdown worse than 1929." THE HIDDEN RISKS: WHY ATTACK COULD BACKFIRE ✅ In the recent 12-day war with Israel, Iran used only a small fraction of its total offensive capabilities. 🚀 Swarms of drones and missiles could saturate and overwhelm air defenses across the entire Gulf region in minutes. ⚠️ Every U.S. ally hosting bases in the area would be considered "complicit" and targeted, potentially collapsing small Gulf regimes overnight. ❌ The professor is blunt: "The U.S. would be at Iran's mercy... Trump would regret it within 24-48 hours." THE BOTTOM LINE Attacking Iran means facing a prepared, resilient power that can shut down the world's most critical energy artery almost instantly—turning a regional conflict into a global economic catastrophe nobody can escape. 🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 TRUMP IN PANIC: Iran Embraces Brutal Attrition Trap Trump's attempt to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities has unleashed Tehran's potential, prompting the country to adopt a strategy of prolonged conflict that exploits Washington's well-documented aversion to open-ended wars. 🔸 The tense exchange following Operation Midnight Hammer highlighted the fragility of the US as Iran's precise ballistic missiles hit American bases in Qatar. This forced Trump to abruptly change his rhetoric to focus on "peace and harmony" while hastily arranging a tenuous ceasefire between Iran and Israel. 🔸 In a stark warning, Supreme Leader Khamenei declared that any fresh aggression would lead to a full regional war, transforming Iran's former paralysing restraint into a state of full military mobilisation and unyielding determination. 🔸 The resumption of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US does not clearly indicate that Trump's coercive pressure has succeeded. Instead, it highlights his administration's growing awareness of its limited options and provides a pragmatic way out to avoid escalating into a chaotic war beyond Washington's control. 🔸 The deepest paradox emerges as Iran now faces pressure and challenges. This adversity has given Iran an unprecedented strategic freedom to draw the US into a battle of attrition, which could speed up the erosion of American global dominance in unforeseen ways. Does the US really have the capacity to finance and sustain another prolonged war, given its poor track record?

🚨TRUMP TO BLOCKADE STRAIT OF HORMUZ, INTERCEPT ALL SHIPS THAT PAID TOLLS TO IRAN Trump announced via a Truth Social post that a US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will begin preventing any ships from entering or leaving the passage after failed negotiations with Islamabad. Trump also said the US will intercept every ship in international waters that paid a toll to Iran to pass the Strait of Hormuz. Trump’s new solution to Iran’s partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which was completely free and open before the US-Israeli illegal war of aggression against Iran, is to totally blockade the Strait of Hormuz entirely and worsen the already spiralling global energy shock… The painful reality of US hegemony is about to be felt by the entire world: Washington’s solution for the destruction, chaos and disruption it causes, is always to unleash more destruction, chaos and disruption. European airports are just weeks away from catastrophic jet fuel shortages, the global south is desperately trying to navigate meteoric fuel price increases and shortages…and now the US will force everyone to pay the price for the senseless, illegal war of choice it unleashed. All nations that have negotiated with Iran to allow safe passage of their ships will now be intercepted by the US, and no one will be able to get fuel from one of the most critical fuel choke points on Earth. That will mean a global recession locked in, unprecedented economic chaos around the world, entire industries being brought to a standstill… Because of the US President lashing out over a strategic defeat imposed on Washington by Iran, and the inability of his team of real estate billionaires, Witkoff and Kushner, widely seen as some of the most discredited and untalented ‘diplomats’ in US history, to negotiate honestly and even remotely fairly. Imposing war, terms of defeat, and threatening to destroy a whole civilisation has done nothing but turn the Iranian leadership into its most hardline and intransigent variant possible. More bombs and destruction will only harden Iran’s positions after their confidence was boosted by being able to endure over a month of US-Israeli air power. The US blockading the Strait of Hormuz completely only adds fuel to Iran’s strategy of globalising the effects of the conflict, in turn causing more and more nations to turn away from a reckless rogue state, with an out-of-control President, whose solution for every problem is wars and escalation. Trump has now sealed the coffin shut on his MAGA agenda. His inability to understand that the US being a net exporter of oil won’t shield the US from the economic impacts of cratering global demand as the global economy grinds to a halt will be a point of ridicule for decades to come. An estimated $2 billion a day to replace Ayatollah Khamenei with Ayatollah Khamenei, close a Strait of Hormuz that was open previously, lock in a global recession, and unleash destabilisation for the GCC and the rest of the world. Once again, US hegemony shoots itself in the foot with its own bluster, arrogance, and hubris.

🚨KHAMENEI KILLED, US-ISRAEL UNLEASH REGIONAL CHAOS Ayatollah Khamenei, for all his faults, stood with and defended the Palestinian cause until his last breath, opposing the US’ illegal wars of aggression and campaigns to destabilise the region. He stood with the poor and was a key voice of a global south fed up with unipolar domination and Washington’s imperialism. BRICS nations must see this as a warning. The US🇺🇸 will now kidnap or assassinate heads of state that refuse to bend to their ultimatums and become satrapies loyal to Washington. Yesterday Venezuela, today Iran, tomorrow it could be Brazil, Russia, India, China, or South Africa. All of the BRICS grand ideas for a multipolar world will stay as nothing but idealised theories unless action is taken now, and the leaders of BRICS take steps to defend the project to move away from US hegemony. Underestimating the US-Israel axis has become a death sentence. As for Iran, it continues to suffer continuous bombing from the US-Israeli airstrikes. Over a hundred girls killed in a US-Israel bombing of a school, hospitals bombed, and civilians indiscriminately slaughtered. The IRIB building was bombed today to stop Iran’s ability to show the world what the US-Israel axis is doing. But Iran has made a strategic miscalculation in striking civilian infrastructure in the Gulf States. The very states that could lobby Donald Trump to end the war on Iran find themselves under attack, with civilians dying. The very states that increasingly cooperated and partnered with Iran after the Beijing-brokered deal, now find themselves in the position where their civilians are being killed and injured by Iranian weaponry. If there are any states that Washington would actually listen to as it conducts its illegal war of aggression, it is the Gulf States, not the irrelevant vassals of Europe. The cold truth is Iran’s political establishment and military are infiltrated by the CIA and Mossad to such a level that Khamenei was assassinated within the opening minutes of the war. If Iran’s leadership want the war to be brought to an end and for the Islamic Revolution to survive, then antagonising the GCC alienates the only states with the potential capability to force an end to this US-Israeli imperialism.

THE FOURTH CENTER OF WORLD POWER EMERGES: PAPE'S PREDICTION COMES TRUE IN REAL TIME Professor Robert Pape has delivered a clear-eyed assessment of the Iran war now past day 100. What began as a fight for survival has shifted into something far more ambitious and dangerous. Iran is no longer reacting. It is actively reshaping the region while American influence erodes in real time. The consequences for global power and economic stability are only beginning to register. THE CORE THESIS: IRAN FROM SURVIVAL TO AMBITION ➡️ Iran has moved from survival to ambition in the middle game of this conflict. ➡️ The regime is no longer focused only on protecting itself inside Tehran. ➡️ A new security belt of resistance now runs from the Strait of Hormuz to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and into the Red Sea. ➡️ Iran is using this architecture to pressure Gulf states like Kuwait and Bahrain to remove American forces from their territory. ➡️ Strikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut triggered immediate Iranian threats against Israel as part of enforcing new red lines. THE TRUMP CONTROL COLLAPSE ➡️ President Trump still speaks and acts as if America remains the dominant power in full control. ➡️ Iran is simply ignoring his calls for negotiations and has publicly laid out its own demands without hesitation. ➡️ Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu took Trump's calls but then defied his direct order not to retaliate. ➡️ For 72 days Trump has claimed a deal with Iran is only days away yet nothing has changed. ➡️ His optimistic rhetoric has lost all connection to reality because America has lost ground as Iran has gained it. THE EMERGENCE OF THE FOURTH WORLD POWER ➡️ Pape warned months ago that Iran was on track to become the fourth center of world power as the dominant state in the Gulf. ➡️ This status means building a genuine sphere of influence where Iran protects and coordinates with allies rather than treating them as expendable. ➡️ The old view of groups like Hezbollah as mere pawns has been reversed by Iran's growing strength. ➡️ Recent Iranian actions have already forced the United States to pressure Israel to pull back. ➡️ This new position will strengthen further when the coming economic crisis hits world markets later this summer. THE MIDDLE GAME THAT LIES AHEAD ➡️ This phase of ambition and escalation will run through the summer and deep into the fall midterms. ➡️ Iran sees clear opportunities to exploit political timelines in both the United States and Israel. ➡️ A major disruption to the global economy driven by regional instability now appears almost locked in. ➡️ Hopes of wrapping the conflict up neatly by Labor Day for domestic political reasons do not match Iran's strategic thinking. THE WEAKENING OF ISRAEL ➡️ Israel's freedom of action is beginning to shrink as its main backer loses strategic ground in the region. ➡️ Iranian-backed forces are showing early signs of more coordinated and sophisticated drone and missile operations. ➡️ The recent expansion of Houthi threats against Israeli-linked shipping in the Red Sea marks a widening of the conflict theater. ➡️ Over time the combination of reduced American support and rising proxy capabilities will place Israel under growing pressure. THE BOTTOM LINE Pape makes the stakes unmistakable. Iran has flipped from a strategy of pure survival into one of expanding ambition and the United States has lost the control it once took for granted. This is the sound of a new center of world power rising while old assumptions fall apart.
