@Phag_Tawlk They’re gonna make excuses but this would be like if a deaf person came to a restaurant and you couldn’t speak sign you make ACCOMMODATIONS. You don’t refuse service. Had the roles been reversed this would be labeled as discrimination which is exactly what it is !

@Phag_Tawlk I understood what you meant from the jump. I had to skip over a lot of job opportunities because they all wanted bilingual Spanish. I’m from Fort Lauderdale which isn’t far from Miami so the same thing was happening there as well.

@Phag_Tawlk Being required to order in Spanish at an American restaurant in Florida that serves unauthentic Mexican food is wild.

@Phag_Tawlk Everybody saying “google translate” but let’s be real someone who can not speak English should not be at the drive thru window. Period.

I lived in NYC for over 5 years. I went to many family owned restaurants where the order taker or waiter spoke very little or no English. This included Jamaican, Chinese, Italian restaurants etc. You do the best that you can at ordering your food and move on. I don't understand your obsession with all of this.

@Phag_Tawlk Whew, problem though isn’t with the woman who’s clearly an immigrant working hard to make a living. It’s more about the COMPANY that hired her, the MANAGER that put her on the cashier in front of customers.. But being xenophobic isn’t a flex.

So it’s xenophobic to say she should kno some BASIC English but not a problem to tell the black girl she should be fluent in Spanish? And then you mean to tell me NO ONE on the whole store spoke English to take her order? Why is there no diversity in the store to accommodate the consumer? Or the only important person here is the worker who just refuses ?
