Before this, @kevolution and I were developing Firebender OS, an AI-powered fork of Android. Inspired by the lackluster launches of Humane Pin and Rabbit R1, we aimed to build a better product by focusing on a killer AI assistant and leveraging existing mobile hardware.

It automated tasks like drafting calendar invites and messages, opening Uber based on location and schedule, and overriding the Google Gemini assistant with the best AI models. Despite using it every day, we didn't LOVE the product.

While developing our OS we found that there were 0 Android Studio AI assistants on the market despite millions of developers using the IDE to program phones, VR/AR, cars, robots, and more.

We purpose-built Firebender for Android developers. Our AI integrates with the codebase, Logcat, profiler, Crashlytics, and emulator as well as leverages an index of the latest Android knowledge to provide better results than raw LLMs with outdated training data.
