Exciting progress on our docx import/export feature. We've implemented a file import that converts docx directly into Tiptap content + exports back to docx or md. It was a challenging build, but we're thrilled with the results. Still a lot of work to do. Beta release coming soon.

The evolution of the editor is truly remarkable. However, I'm concerned about the growing trend of these new features being released exclusively for cloud-hosted and enterprise versions. For those of us operating in sensitive fields like medical and legal as I am, using cloud-hosted solutions for data is often unfeasible due to privacy and regulatory concerns. While your enterprise offering includes on-premise solutions, the current model still leaves many users without access to these innovations. Have you considered expanding your business model to include more accessible on-premise or self-hosted options for these new features? This could help bridge the gap between the open-source roots that attracted many of us and your current growth strategy. I believe there's potential for a middle ground that serves both your business needs and the broader community that helped build Tiptap's foundation. Looking forward to seeing how you navigate this balance in future releases.

Thanks for your feedback and kind words 🙏 Totally get where you’re coming from. As a small team, we have to focus on the most urgent issues. On-prem do add a lot of support and maintenance overhead for us right now. But don’t worry, we’re thinking about how to bridge that gap!

No, it needs a backend to process the files. But there might be a free version available, just brainstorming in the team.

Will you support page separation?

This is another feature we're working on that will be decoupled from the export/import function and allow pages in Tiptap.

Yes, it's on our roadmap, but not for the beta release.

Are there plans for a paging feature similar to the one in ckeditor5?

@_TomCat2029 We're playing around with a new feature for a page layout in Tiptap (like any paper format).
