A 2M Express bus driver and passengers narrowly escaped a robbery attack on the Kumasi-Accra highway late at night. Reportedly, a particular man in the bus was on the phone throughout the journey and was unfazed in the face of danger as he continued his call during the robbery attempt, even after gunshots were fired by the robbers. To the disbelief of onlookers in the bus, he attempted to open the door of the bus for reasons best known to him.

A man who identified himself as the assistant driver claims the man behind the wheel fell asleep and lost control of the bus. “The driver was sleeping, and a police officer woke him up. He told the driver to go to Musina to register and take the fingerprints of the passengers. When the driver started the bus, he was already exhausted and failed to control the bus.”

Bus driver dies from gunshot wounds after robbery on Buffelsdraai Road, KZN A bus driver from Verulam, KZN, has died in hospital after being shot during a robbery on Buffelsdraai Road this morning. Four suspects, posing as passengers, shot the driver in the arm and abdomen while the bus was in motion. The bus crashed into vegetation, and the suspects stole cash and valuables from around 20 passengers before fleeing on foot. The critically injured driver was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Authorities has launched a search for the suspects, who are still at large.
