Give me an engineer and I’ll listen. An operator isn’t a reliable source for several reasons

For reference to what he says at the end, to break and push forward while locked, takes 7,900 lbs of force according to the restraint’s patent.

Him: “blah blah blah gears blah mechanisms blah” TMZ: “So what do you think happened?” Him: “No idea” Good talk guys

He’s full of shit you can’t do that. There is no pushing it open or wi would be dead by now. They prob paid this mfer to say all that.

I think the two douches from TMZ should ride Goliath and see how it goes

I haven’t unmuted and already know Six Flags is obviously hiring teens and junkies.

Mind you as someone that works at six flags and worked at a ride exactly like the Goliath. The guy die because of maintenance 100% . These people are the laziest ever . I remember once we had a warning saying the ride was going to fast all they did was try to put less passengers-

This is terrifying… a ride restraint is supposed to keep people safe. How could something like this happen

So it sounds like they only pushed it down for one click instead of the 3 that would allow for two more slips. Hope the theme park gets sued and closes down.

So.. it wasn’t secure enough and the guy was overweight maybe?

sounds like someone needs to double-check the safety manual. a faulty restraint is like a faulty parachute—no room for error.

What this translates to (imo) what happened: At the station the passenger held the clam down past the yellow line but it was locked outside of that minimum. It was between gears, but the ride attendants probably didn't check thoroughly enough. This would require some physicality of the rider to hold on during, but he was trying to get airtime and maybe even film. This speculation is based on the heavy appearance of the individual.

You guys really can't just say, the ride operator was not allowed to tell a big fat black dude he was too fat to ride?

I do believe that. Nothing is 100% safe. If they didn't do these checks there'd be someone falling down every few days. It's like IT, when things work, nobody complains, but that one time you fucked up, everyone notices.

The guy levitated pretty sure that was the best and last ride for the roller enthusiast RIP you’re in a wayyyy better place!!❤️

He fell out going through the turn. if you look at the pictures of him being ejected you can see the clamshell restraint in the forward position. It had to have broken and pushed forward as they were entering the turn.

100% the Fat guy puffed his body up so that the bar would lock but give him enough room to relax so his gut and nuts wouldnt be smashed once the ride started and the restraints were ride ready. I use to do it all the time from keeping them from being wedged into the seat.

Is that Tony Henchcliffe?

One of the most useless interviews ever...

A ride restraint is supposed to be the last line of defense between passengers and disaster. If a mechanical failure allowed it to open during a ride, investigators need to determine exactly how it happened and whether better safety measures could have prevented this tragedy. Safety must come before everything.

I hope this guy knows it’s all his fault for what happened. He should be sued.

Respectfully this guy had like zero credibility about how this could have happened. That said, even ride *mechanics* don’t know how it happened. So, I guess in this case, the operator is aligned with the experts?

A person can’t push the restraint open, it would require thousands of pounds of force to break through the redundant locks and hydraulics. Saying you could push hard enough to open it makes this whole interview irrelevant

I wonder how bad Six Flags is going to sue him

Lost me at "this is my habit"

Yeah...this is definitely who knows the most about a roller coaster.....ffs

He doesn’t know how. There just saved you from having to watch this nonsense

You can educate us on all the mechanics of this ride, but the bottom line is and the major questionnaire. How did this man get out of a seat that was supposed to be restrained and locked in before operating that's the million dollar question

Let’s have six flags and real engineers explain this and not random people posting on an app
