When the first cold wave washed over his paws, his whole face lit up. He didn't run, he couldn't, but he waded in up to his chest and stood in the shallow water with the sun going down behind him, and the whole family just watched. Nobody said much. They didn't need to. They stayed until the light was almost gone, taking pictures, letting Baxter rest against their legs, giving him one perfect afternoon to hold onto. The young White boy was murdered because he tried to stop his friend from being mugged by this same group. NEW: 81-year-old Ohio man William Brock charged with murder after shooting and killing an Uber driver who he thought was trying to scam him. 61-year-old Loletha Hall is dead after Brock thought she was a phone scammer. Alex Collins was so special man. Amazing teammate and a guy everyone was down to kick it with. This man invited me and wifey out one time in Baltimore and I will never forget it. We show up to the spot and AC is no where to be found. We are looking around for him for 20 min and finally I feel a little nudge on my shoulder. I turnaround and AC is walking behind me, drops his shades to his nose and signals with his eyes to follow him. It was so funny and smooth, we forgot he was 20 min late. AC told us he had to be discreet because he couldn’t have everyone knowing he was there. The rest of the night, we found out why. Everywhere AC went that night everyone knew him. Everyone was excited to see him, laughing when he came around and showing him love. You see everyone loved this man and his energy was contagious. To end the night, he hit this dance with all the fans watching him on the dance floor. WHAT A NIGHT and WHAT A GUY AC WAS. Shared more laughs than people know and I’m blessed to have been your teammate my brother. Rest In Peace.

"I'm a K9 officer in central Ohio. Five years ago I drove down to the training facility to pick out my dog from a litter of twelve German Shepherd puppies. By the time I got there, eleven had already been claimed by other officers. The one left was the smallest. Nobody had wanted him. I took him home anyway. Last spring, that dog dragged me 47 feet across the asphalt of a gas station parking lot with three rounds in my vest, and bit a man who was walking up with a handgun to finish what he had started. I'm alive because of the runt of the litter. I'm Officer Brennan Vasiliev. I'm 38 years old. I'm with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office in central Ohio. I've been a deputy for 13 years. I've been in the K9 unit for the last six. I want to tell you about how I ended up with Hero. In April of 2020, our department was rotating two new K9 officers into our existing unit. I had finally moved up the waiting list after four years of trying. I had been a patrol deputy with a clean record, an above-average pistol score, and the kind of dog-handling background — I had grown up on a working farm in southeast Ohio with two working dogs my whole childhood — that made me a reasonable candidate. Our videographer, Lee Hogan, was fortunate enough to capture his sole professional victory during his 68th fight on a Frank Duffin show. This moment was incredibly significant for him, as he conveyed the message “Never give up” to the camera. Rest in peace, Baltic Bomber.
