Two men were killed in a double homicide on Chicago's Far Northwest Side on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2026. The Irving Woods Shooting According to the Chicago Police Department reported by WGN-TV and the Chicago Tribune, the victims were discovered by officers at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 7800 block of West Cahill Terrace in the city's Irving Woods/Dunning neighborhood. The Victims: A 20-year-old man was shot multiple times in the chest, head, back, and right shoulder. A second male victim of an unknown age suffered gunshot wounds to his back, neck, and left leg. Medical Response: Both men were transported in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where they were later pronounced dead. Witness Accounts: Neighbors reported hearing a loud verbal argument outside on a deck right before a succession of gunshots occurred. The gunfire erupted just before 11 p.m. outside The Centre, a rentable event venue located within the Santa Clarita Sports Complex. First responders found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to area trauma centers, with paramedics performing CPR on one of the men using a LUCAS mechanical chest compression device during transport. One of the victims was later pronounced dead at a hospital. The condition of the second victim has not been released. Investigators recovered dozens of shell casings near where the victims were found. The scene remained locked down for hours as detectives processed evidence and interviewed witnesses. Since March, seven decaying female bodies have been found near the coast in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. Police claim there is no evidence at this time that the de*ths are connected, however, forensic scientist Peter Valentin says the crimes are making him "curious." (video below) The women were between the ages of 35 and 60. Paige Fannon, 35, was found deceased on March 6 in the Norwalk River. A human skull was found on the same day in the woods in Plymouth, Boston. Two weeks later remains of a female were found near a cemetery in Groton. Then, a couple of days later, missing mother Denise Leary, 59, was found deceased in New Haven. 56-year-old Michele Romano was later found deceased on March 26 in a wooded area in Foster.
