Suggested a name change to Reservation Reform Movement. With a Manifesto 🇮🇳 This is not a call to end reservation. It is a call to discuss reforms that make the system fairer, more transparent and more effective. ✅ Introduce a creamy layer in SC/ST reservation so the benefits reach the most disadvantaged families. ✅ No reservation below a minimum qualifying benchmark. ✅ Reservation should be available only once for OBC and twice for SC/ST across UG, PG, PhD and Government Jobs. ✅ Reserved category candidates should continue under the reserved category and not occupy general category seats. ✅ Review the reservation percentage. If SC/ST/OBC reservation is reduced after due review, the released percentage should be reallocated to EWS and Persons with Disabilities (PwD). ✅ Publish a nationwide reservation review every 10 years and make the findings public. ✅ Improve government schools, colleges and public education infrastructure. ✅ Only public funding. No external funding. ✅ Keep the movement peaceful and non-political. The only slogans should be Jai Hind, Jai Bharat and Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Ravinder Jatheri is on Hunger Strike since last 77 days against the misuse of SC/ST Act. But, our Govt, Judiciary and even Media are least bothered. When protests were announced against UGC bill then Govt used brutal force and arrested hundreds of people to prevent them from organizing any protest. Govt denied us permission multiple times to protest at Jantar Mantar against the misuse of Laws and Male Suicide. We were forced to leave the protest venue sharp at 5 pm whenever we protested at Jantar Mantar. Our entire team were arrested within 10 minutes when we assembled to do a candle March at India Gate in Dec 2024 to demand Justice For #AtulSubhash. But, the same Govt provided protection and allowed CJP to protest at Jantar Mantar for weeks. Seems, Govt of India has decided to implement 100% reservation in organizing protests and demonstrations. Only women, LGBTQ and some special category people are allowed to do any kind of protests in the country now.

Hello Medha Yadav kudos to you for bringing this up. Caste discrimination in India is so deeply rooted that it isn’t going to disappear anytime soon. While debates around UGC and reservation continue, one only needs to visit a village to see the reality on the ground. The situation remains largely unchanged. Even today, people from so-called upper castes often refuse to sit with or even touch those from lower castes. So, for anyone who believes reservation is no longer necessary, I would urge you to look at how these communities are still treated in everyday life. The need for reservation becomes painfully clear.

The protest is not over. Jantar Mantar remains occupied. Contrary to several claims circulating on social media suggesting that the #CockroachJanataParty (CJP) protest has ended or that the protest site has been completely dismantled, the protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar is very much ongoing. After the clashes during the proposed march to Parliament, protesters remained on the roads outside Jantar Mantar until around 3.30 a.m. before returning to the protest site. According to organisers, they rebuilt the stage after it was demolished during the police action and resumed the sit-in. Hundreds of protesters continue to remain at Jantar Mantar, while more supporters have been arriving at the venue through the day. Volunteers have also resumed organising the protest site as the demonstration continues. The developments come a day after the attempted Parliament march, which saw clashes between protesters and Delhi Police. Honorable CM Omar Abdullah's press conference today was not only disheartening but an outright misrepresentation of the discussions that happened between him & the student delegation on the issue of RESERVATION. By diverting the focus towards jobs & land rights, which are fundamentally the government's responsibilities, he is attempting to sabotage & dilute the core demands surrounding reservations. This is a clear attempt to mislead the youth and deflect accountability. Let us remind the students, stakeholders, and people of J&K of the actual points discussed during the meeting on the day of protest: 1. Resolution of the reservation issue within six months from the date of formation of sub committee 2. Immediate action on actionable items within 15 days. 3. One Nation, One School. That’s the demand this young woman just made at Jantar Mantar — and it’s the most honest thing said in this entire “Remove Reservation” circus. She didn’t beg. She didn’t shout slogans. She simply asked: “Will the Prime Minister’s son, the sanitation worker’s son, and Ambani’s child all study in the SAME school? Then we can talk about talent.” Why not?
