NIRA has announced the closure of the massive ID registration and renewal exercise, which began on May 27, 2025, at parish level. NIRA Registrar Claire Ollama said 14.3 million people had their IDs renewed or particulars updated, falling short of the 15.8 million target. For new registrations, 6.4 million IDs were issued, about 37% of the 17.2 million target. So far, 10 million IDs have been printed, with 2.5 million already collected from district offices. Ms Ollama added that diaspora ID issuance is underway in Dubai, UAE, from Monday to Wednesday. #MonitorUpdates 📹: Walugembe David
