Experimenting with a minimal HUD. Stamina only shows up when it's below 100%. No more distance measure (since it's useless). Don't show anything if not climbable. What do y'all think?

I liked the measure because even if it was seldom *useful*, it sold the idea that you're playing as non-human character, and gave you a little more idea of the scale of the megastructure you're descending. Honestly I'd like to see more of that. Perhaps even some useful info

I'll likely have it as on by default - but option to turn it off. It was strictly for aesthetic as you said. Like Terminator style console output on the HUD.

If it's an artistic decision, then i think it's cool. If it's a "for the user" decision i would recommend it being in settings so that anyone can choose what to have on their screen.

It's definitely artistic. It solves two problems: 1. The HUD is way to obstructive in dark levels 2. The HUD is obstructive when revealing area titles I'm still thinking if there is a better way to redesign it altogether, but this solves these immediate problems

I don't find it minimal enough, my eyes only look at the UI. But it's a video maybe while playing it's less visible. Maybe less centered, maybe bigger but around the eyes focus zone? Giving info through pickaxes color and shader could also be a way to completely get rid of the UI

Pushing things to the edge of the screen could work - but when you're going faster, it's very useful to have the HUD give you info right where you're looking. The picks are supposed to be rustic, so I can't really do the whole diagetic thing with them unfortunately.

yeah.. very pretty game. more space for my eyeballs to see things...

Personnaly having a frequently blinking HUD, plus at the center, would hurt my eyes

You're right about this... I hate the flickering

Looks awesome, I like it better this way
