Explain how a 2005 game has better jet physics than today’s Battlefield 6...

If you would serve BF2 to modern shooter players they would just cry about the movement non-stop

Jet physics after battlefield 4 became just uncontrollable. Like i LOVED flying jets in 3 and was even pretty decent at it but later titles just..makes it impossible lol

I love BF2 but this isn't "superior jet physics" this is literally just the J10 being broken lol There are rules to how dogfights worked in BF2, and the J10 basically breaks all of these rules. Every map that has the J10, the Chinese team has total aid superiority.

Battlefield 2 was actually the peak and it should have stayed exclusive to PC and only have been made for chuds.

I've been saying this since BF3 and BF4, there's no vehicle gameplay that beats BF2, that was the real GOAT.

Old maps also were much bigger. Graphic go up but we lose stuff along the way. So side by side you see it. Graphics enhance games but at a cost.

Battlefield 6 was handed off to the same developers who ran Call of Duty into the ground.

Don't forget the choppers, BF2 had the most fun choppers in the series. You needed actual skill to do some awesome maneuvers.

I really miss how jets actually looked like they were fast, flying overhead. Now the maps are so small, the jets need to be literally half the speed to be usable.

None of the games after BF2142 had good jets. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Ace Combat, but BF 3 BF4, and onwards had genuinely bad planes. None of them ever felt good to fly.

LMAO BF2 jet physics were completely broken. BF6 haters can't be serious anymore at this point. I mean, AA missiles basically couldn't hit a J10. F35's were basically useless unless the other teams pilot was braindead.

BF2 has joystick support. I really miss the old EA DICE... They should at least make BF jet physics like @WarThunder.

Vehicle balancing is way more of a topic than physics in 2026 gaming, especially in Battlefield Netcode and balancing aside, jet physics are overall better than most previous titles I'd say Authenticity vs realism vs game engines and respective implementation and balance across all three

Yup. Bf2 and 3 were amazing for flight physics. Its sad they broke it.

This was patched out towards the end of the game's lifespan. Bad players whinged that good pilots were able to dodge lockon rockets, so they made it so even if you used rearview and barrel roll at the right time to dodge, it would still hit. Two good pilots would DOGFIGHT with cannons, and good infantry on the ground would run to the nearest mounted 50cal and shoot into the sky. The lockons were useful to deter players, because you could only dodge as you were flying away, not really towards. A good AA player aiming an IGLA at an incoming jet would force the jet to abort the bombing run. Fuck noobs, they ruin games for everyone.

Map Scale and attention to detail lack in BF today. Detail in code is better than any cosmetic detail.

I was wondering the same thing, I don’t even try to fly in BF6. Imagine some of these remade with more depth. Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Wake Island, Dragon Valley, and Sharqi Peninsula, Mashtuur City, Daqing Oilfields, Kubra Dam, Road to Jalalabad Or a beefed up BF Vietnam

Because they didnt try to copy their competitors game (cod)
