Hilarious!! So a public path about 200 yards from the nearest training pitch, of which there are quite a few. No attempt to screen the facilities with any fencing/gates. And the word of a security guard who recognised a junior staffer from SFC website! More ludicrous by the day

If boro’s training ground security is simply a sign that says ‘no entry’ instead of having it all fenced off to the public then thats on them. If that is the place the alleged ‘spy’ was, it’s not like he entered through the gate anyway. Secure your facilities better is what I say

Honestly the lack of security is shocking, where’s the high fence? It’s totally open land, pathetic.

@SkySportsNews There has been a “serious” allegation made and the EFL have charged, Sky Sports should not have been told anything. This is bs or Boro staff are leaking information that should only be known within the investigation.

What a crock of shite. Standing where anybody could is hardly the stuff of spooks is it. Boro should learn the lesson and just put up some screens.

Mate, it's a public footpath not exactly spy training school

Think it shows how inept Boro are for training in full view of the public.

How much information would the spy have gathered from that gate, ridiculous to suggest removing Southampton.

Pathetic from @Boro trying to fake their way to a play off final, embarrassing

An unknown individual crossed the road from the adjacent golf club & lent on the waist high gate & fence. Considering Middlesbrough's tumble from the top of the table I wonder just how many other people did the same.

@SkySportsNews Would have been all forgotten about if Boro had won - they had 2 legs to beat them and couldn’t…move on

You have absolutely no idea how it unfolded, you are speculating. Nobs.

How do you know where the alleged spygate took place ??!

Perhaps #Boro should invest in a decent training area rather than play in the local park.

@SkySportsNews Crikey I’m looking at this and wondering how many other clubs have done this without getting caught! So easy! What stops a supporter or anyone doing it and giving their findings to a team they are playing! They definitely need more security or screening in future

Christ, the way you're going on about it, anyone would think it was Lee Harvey Oswald in the book depository.

So Boro have given an exclusive side of their story to the press even before the investigation is held tomorrow. Surely they have compromised themselves too by leaking stories to the press to deliberately destabilise the play off rounds and meeting tomorrow?

If it helps Middlesbrough are out, they got beat! Southampton will get punished; two different things. We're watching

@SkySportsNews Why do they not have fences?

Hiding in a bush for a 0-0 draw is peak comedy. All that effort for absolutely zero output. 🕵️‍♂️

There must be more concrete evidence for the EFL to have given then 2 charges ?

@SkySportsNews Well it’s not exactly a closed area, so anybody could see what was going on in training. This is just crap and shows how far it’s own Arse football has gone in the last few years.

football is too ruthless now 😭 you think you’re just training, meanwhile somebody is hiding in the bushes collecting tactical updates like it’s a spy movie 🕵️‍♂️⚽️
