Trump's trade war also feeds into the strategy that Xi has been working on for years: become less reliant on the United States. But this is going to be painful for BOTH countries. Last year, the US imported more than $400 billion worth of goods from China – everything from electronics, cell phones, to toys, furniture, clothing and more. U do realize most of 🇨🇳’s food is imported from the US, right? No analyst seems to want to discuss this aspect. US consumers will feel some economic pain in the marketplace, but their 🇨🇳 counterparts will feel the pain of hunger as prices skyrocket & food supplies become scarce

I don't think I'll have to talk with Xi about the final details directly but I'm ready to do it like I did with the UK." White House Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett said today that when Trump is back from the Middle East, he will announce his next trade deal. If we get India or Japan soon...and then China to follow that up... The street is going to love this & if the average tariff rate starts to come down due to the negotiations (aka the WH lowers rates in order to get more concessions), Powell will have more liberty to cut rates due to less fears around tariff inflation. More trade deals, more investments in the US, lower rates...it could all set up the markets to gain serious momentum into the second half of the year.
