Prosecuting the truth-tellers. Pardoning perpetrators of political violence. That’s not what democracies do. That’s what dictators do.

BJP goons vandalized the house of Congress supporters at Kamalpur, Tripura. I met members of the family who suffered violence. Political violence has no place in mature democracies. Incidents such as these show BJP's frustration in the poll-bound state. #TripuraElections2023

Changing who can vote instead of confronting the fact your policies are extremely unpopular is not what healthy political parties in democratic societies do. It’s what dying political parties in backsliding democracies do.

Hasan Piker says political violence is never justified, then immediately carves out an exception. Asked point blank: "Do you think political violence is ever justified?" Piker: "No, I don't"... but pauses, adding: "I was thinking about like what would be considered political violence." He then offers this: "Occupied people have a right, a legally recognized right to resist militarily against their colonial occupants." His explanation for why that doesn't count: "But that's not political violence."

PETERSON: 100% of Protestant countries are highly functioning democracies. 6% of muslim countries are democracies. MORGAN: But do they want to be democracies, though? PETERSON: It's a problem when you import fundamentalists en masse into a democratic society. (Clearly! 🎯)

The left absolutely has a problem with political violence right now. Do not let them blur the line between ideological violence and political violence. They need to acknowledge and take accountability for their reckless rhetoric and what it drives people to do.
