Explaining the Ash Nerf confusion: Patchnotes say: "Dash gives less of a boost when not dashing in the direction you're moving" What does that mean ? I dug into it. TLDR: Redirects above 90° are only really possible at normal Slidejump velocities. Angle and speed of your dash will... deviate further and further from where you wanna go based on speed and angle change. 90°: Dash seems to work fairly well all the way up to 90° up to a certain velocity. - At Slidejump velocities it works in all directions. - At Superjump velocities you can still dash full 90°. - Above 90° your final direction deviates more and more from your desired direction as the angle increases. - Backwards dash seems to straight up subtract with whatever current velocity you have. Velocity: - As velocity increases even 90° changes are no longer possible. - And as your speed goes above the speed of the dash, dashing backwards will drop you straight down or you'll even continue traveling forward. Nerd yap: I feels like it's not just a straight vector addition but it does in fact have some velocity/angle thresholds in place. My assumption is that >90° changes stop applying the full dash boost at around the velocity of the dash itself so 600-700hu/s. And that above 90° it is a straight up dot product no matter the velocity. You just don't really notice cus of the low initial speed. But players will adjust to it based on feeling and experience anyways so i currently don't care enough to dig deeper🤷‍♂️show more

This man is a restaurant owner and he says that Door Dash is a completely different restaurant within a restaurant. Prices are higher when you order from them because Door Dash can take up to 30% from the business. So when you think you are helping that business by ordering from them through Door Dash, sometimes you aren’t. He also says that Door dash sometimes lets the food you ordered sit for for 20,30, even up to 45 minutes before they pick it up. So when you get it and it’s cold and call to complain, it was made on time but they were late. As he says, I know it’s a convenience but I don’t like paying and extra fee. And herring this from him, I don’t think I will ever use it. Why don’t these restaurants just cancel their contract with Door Dash? Do you use Door Dash? Will what he said change your mind about using them? What’s been your experience with them?

This is one of those speed square tricks that makes angle work way less annoying. Instead of pulling out an angle finder or doing the whole “subtract from 90” math every time, he shows a quick way to read the angle directly off the square so you can just set your saw and go. 80% of pitching velocity comes from rotation. The biggest mistake I see is guys trying to rotate by pushing hard down the mound. They try to push to create as much linear momentum as possible. That’s actually the wrong way to approach it. When you push, it becomes much harder to rotate effectively. Rotation is where most of your pitching velocity comes from. Hip to shoulder separation is responsible for about 80 percent of your velocity. If you take away from that separation, you’re taking away from your velocity. That’s why even from your knees you should be able to throw about 80 percent of your top velocity. What we want to do is maximize rotation and create as much separation as possible. Your pelvis fires toward the target while the ribcage, shoulders, and pec stay back. That stretch creates torque through your torso. That torque is what propels the arm through the throw. HOW TO DRIFT IN FORZA HORIZON 6 ON CONTROLLER FOR BEGINNERS! Disclaimer, I’m not exactly Drift King, some people make me look like Donkey Kong. I do it well enough for people who are completely new to drifting to ask me how I do it, so I’m going to explain how I do it, as someone who is “decent” at best at it. First of all, you’re going to want to change your transmission to Manual so that you can maintain a consistent drift, as the speed of your vehicle determines the angle of your drift, and with Automatic, you can’t control your speed. It doesn’t matter, just personal preference here, you can do your gear changes with the buttons, but if you own an Elite Controller, you can put the paddles to good use here. I like to equip only two paddles, preferably the larger ones, and map the left to X (Downshift) and map the right to B (Upshift). You also want to turn off your Traction and Stability control assists to allow your car to slide. My vehicle of preference is the Silvia Spec R, and the code for the tune I use is 146 936 201. I am using a RWD Vehicle for reference, but some people prefer AWD. For the most part, you’re going to be driving in third and fourth gear. Third gear is great for small roads and tight, closed corners where you need a sharper drift, and fourth gear is great for wide roads and corners because the extra speed is going to throw your car further forwards and make your drift angle more shallow. It’s important to look at the size of the road and the corner you have to take and judge what gear you need to be in as the speed of your car makes all of the difference. That being said, these are not real cars, if you’re going too fast, I much prefer to hold the gas and brake pedal at the same time whilst taking the drift as opposed to engine braking. It almost makes you float around the corner at a consistent speed and gives you more control. If you are on the inside edge of the corner you’re taking, you can hold your foot brake and handbrake at the same time and your car will almost push back a little giving you more space to angle yourself correctly. 🚨 How to make FSD go above the speed limit, and stick to it! 🚨 Got tired of pressing the accelerator and then have FSD slowing down again Decided to put an idea to the test, and found the solution to the problem 👇🏼 The key word is Delta V. Say you’re driving on 103 actual speed and, depending on the offset, you scroll down the max speed setting to 106 Once you hit that Delta V of 3 kph between actual speed and max speed you feel the car starts accelerating From then onwards you can just keep on scrolling the speed up (not too fast) and it will keep accelerating and stick to your speed setting But once the car loses speed it doesn’t accelerate back up to the set speed again The testing continues…

“What did you think of Lando being booed at race because people and I've seen it online as well say he doesn't deserve the title because McLaren favored him over his teammate. Do you think that's total nonsense?” Jacques Villeneuve: “That's a little bit ridiculous. When there was some booing in some races, that was embarrassing. You should never boo a driver that's clean, doesn't do anything dirty, on track is respectful, and on top of it is super fast. What's wrong with people? That was embarrassing. And, had it been that Piastri was a second a lap faster than him and somehow Lando was winning because a lot of things were happening, his car breaking down every time, then you could start thinking, okay, that's really not cool. That's not fair. But that wasn't the case. And in the second half, Norris has been faster right at the beginning as well, last year as well. So there's this whole middle of the season where Piastri was driving a lot better than Norris and was getting the points. Norris had an engine blowing up, not Piastri. And so those fans, they don't look at that either. You have to look at the whole picture, at the whole season. And suddenly if your favorite is starting to go backwards, you just got to bite the bullet and accept it. Your favorite is just going backwards. That doesn't mean that the other one is treated better or the other one is undeserving just because the one you're a fan of is not winning right now. That’s really wrong. If you're a fan of the sport, then you have to be a fan of the sport and understand when your driver is maybe not cutting it at this point in time, even though he was before and he will in the future again. Why did Uber have 5,000+ microservices, a few years into the company being started? Thuan Pham, Uber's first CTO, who oversaw this massive boom: "None of us wanted to go through that extreme of thousands of services. But when you are under a lot of pressure, and no time to react other than just survive to scale, you have to make a decision that increases speed and velocity! Because this speed and velocity allows us to build things quickly enough to survive. We knew that backend (called "API" at the time), a monolith: this will prevent speedy development from happening. So we made a declaration: anything that is NEW needs to be built outside of that (the "API"), as a microservice. Then there's a team that's dedicated to decomposing that monolith into a bunch of services. This project (to decompose the monolith) was called Darwin. The philosophy we operated with, at the time, was that no team should be blocking anybody else. (...) So that's how it came up to thousands of microservices. It was out of necessity ,so that we can just fan out and solve every problem all at once. After things stabilized and the business became more mature, and growth was not as violent as that anymore, then the team, we actually had a project called Arc, to rationalize services."

POV: you throw through the target. This might be the most underrated cue in baseball for increasing pitching velocity. It’s the idea of throwing through the target. Tom House did a study on this. He found that 80 percent of pitching velocity comes from separation and rotation. The other 20 percent comes from how well you track toward the target and direct energy through it. I made this mistake for years. I built a delivery where I would pull off. I tried to create power with rotation alone. What actually happened was I leaked energy sideways instead of directing it through the target. One of my favorite examples is Yamamoto. He doesn’t spin off. All of his energy is directed through and toward the target. He even finishes going forward. Everything goes through the target, not just rotation. Here’s the key. You still need rotation. That’s 80 percent of your pitching velocity. You can throw about 80 percent of your velocity from your knees because of rotation. But if you don’t direct that energy through the target, you’re leaving velocity on the table.

I made this mistake for years. I built a delivery where I would pull off. I tried to create power with rotation alone. What actually happened was I leaked energy sideways instead of directing it through the target. One of my favorite examples is Yamamoto. He doesn’t spin off. All of his energy is directed through and toward the target. He even finishes going forward. Everything goes through the target, not just rotation. Here’s the key. You still need rotation. That’s 80 percent of your pitching velocity. You can throw about 80 percent of your velocity from your knees because of rotation. But if you don’t direct that energy through the target, you’re leaving velocity on the table.

Hip rotation is one of the primary drivers of velocity during the throw. Both speed and timing of rotation matter. The goal is to have the hips rotate out in front of the torso. Ideally, you want rotation to begin quickly after the front foot strikes the ground. The speed of rotation is also critical. I strive for all QBs that I work with to be 800+ deg/sec with hip rotation speed. One key thing is to not mistake “sliding” for rotating. Many will push and slide their hips forward as opposed to rotating against a stable lead leg.

At the start of this year, Phil Mickelson had a crushing ball speed of 165mph. Within 2 months he upped that to high 170’s and topping over 180. That’s an incredible jump for a man in his 50’s! He puts it down to training with speed sticks and explains how he has to change his release the faster he gets. “What I do notice is as I speed the swing up, I have to change the release point of my golf swing. I use length to create the leverage that I want, so it takes a lot of pressure off. But, as I do that, I have to change where the release is. But if I speed up, when I get down to the ball the face will be open. So I have to feel like I’m releasing the club a little bit earlier.” Lefty is a master at going deep in explaining the technicals of the golf swing. A little tidbit I picked up in my first vehicle-based shooting course years ago: When firing into a vehicle windshield from the outside, bullets tend to deflect downward because after it passes through the glass, the bottom edge of the projectile hits open air first due to the angle of the windshield. Air has less resistance than glass = bullet moves in that direction. The opposite is true when firing through a windshield from INSIDE the vehicle - bullets tend to deflect upward from your point of aim. Having said that, the amount of deflection varies widely based on projectile weight, velocity, and construction type. The more you know 🌈 ⭐
