Explorers have found a curious geological formation that looks like a giant doorway, located in the Dzungarian Alatau Mountains of Kazakhstan.

Yeah, we should probably just keep it closed.

Some A-hole’s gonna open that thing and we’re all doomed. (Hint: Don’t stand in front of it and chant ancient Samarian)

Video games taught me there is a ventilation shaft near by you can enter. Right next to it is health and ammo.

Those doorway shapes usually come from differential weathering—softer rock behind a harder face collapses first and leaves an opening. Same process that carved Utah’s arches and coastal sea caves, just on different geology. @grok

Looks creepy to me, too! Screenshot of Grok's take below:

If that thing ever opens, I don’t want to know what’s on the other side. I just want a good seat.

Have they tried "Open, Sesame"?

Knock on it?

Say, "mellon" to it.

There's nothing on the other side so technically it's a closed archway.

Speak friend. And enter

This keeps being found every few days on X

The batcave

where is Indiana jones when you need him?

Mellon.

Nice music.

I played enough videogames to know you need to use a bomb on that wall

Это пещера циклопа.

That used to be flat on the ground.

Looks like a dragon to me.

We have to know what’s in there

Too late. The solstice has passed.

Get out, this is a gate to the Big China prison

DON'T OPEN IT!!!!😬

Oh no, they found the underground global seed vault.

Mellon

Testing space lasers.

Weird ha, yes very weird

Ruh roh

😥

I wasn't prepared for something this lovely to land today.

Humans discovered the strength of arches 5,000 years ago. Nature did before that.

That’s the entrance to the mines of Moria
