This is move to drive more inbound tourist arrivals from Nigeria. On behalf of the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Hon. Did you Know that in every 3 days 48,000 bags of cement equivalent to 2,400,000 kg and 5.3 to 5.4 million litres of petroleum products equivalent to 98 bulk road vehicles fuel tankers carrying approximately 54,000 litres of fuel transported from Tema to Buipe in the Northern part of Ghana through the Akosombo Port. In just a single a single tug voyage , the vessel is capable of carrying equivalent of 48 articulated trucks and 98 fuel tankers from our road in one trip on the volta lake. The Volta lake bulk haulage takes away nearly 100 fuel tankers and dozens of heavy trucks carrying cement, reducing highway congestion, road wear, fuel consumption, and transport costs. We commend H.E President John Dramani Mahama for the “Big Push” Infrastructure Projects sets to transform Ghana’s Transportation Infrastructure. BOST, GHACEM are the major clients of the Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC) transporting barges of petroleum products from Akosombo to the Buipe Depot. #JohnMahamaThePresident #ResettingGhana #Mrtourism
