this looks potentially up my alley: -dungeon crawling -loot -danger -poor bastard mobs to dunk on -taking cover and even destructible cover objects to strategize and also keep pressure. -a reticle to let you know where to aim at because visual clarity is important.

Using the item box as cover is so sick!! Are all enemy projectiles, uh, TUNED FOR BOX like they are here?

Breaking line-of-sight avoids tracking ranged attacks like this one. The hit scan aims at the player, but the box was in the way, so it hit the box instead. There will be some actual “projectile” attacks that can be avoided with movement too, but none implemented yet!
