DO NOT TRY THIS! Microwaving mercury absolutely does make it glow and arc, because mercury vapor is highly reactive to electromagnetic radiation. That’s how mercury vapor lamps work. But those are sealed systems, designed for it. In open air or a microwave, You’re releasing vaporized neurotoxin directly into the environment. people are copying this without knowing the risk? That’s pure ignorance, weaponized influence or worse… a ritualized stunt designed to mislead or harm the unaware.

and also vaporises mercury, which is fine in a closed container as long as pressure is lower than the container's ability to sustain it. In an open system however this wld be detrimental to people around. Yet, check the weight of the container+mercury before & during microwaving.
