UPDATE: HOW NASIRU EL-RUFA'I PAID FULANI A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY, CLAIMING IT WAS COMPENSATION, AND THE CONSEQUENCES THAT FOLLOWED. I'm appalled by Nasiru Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai's shameless actions. As a pathological liar, he claimed to reject repentant bandits but paid Fulani herdsmen who killed hundreds of Southern Kaduna residents, mostly Christians, as compensation for their losses, including lives and cattle, without paying the southern kaduna victims' families. This blatant hypocrisy is outrageous. The payments didn't stop the killings; instead, the herdsmen used the money to buy more weapons and continued their attacks. I promise that if Nigeria's system were functioning properly, this vile man would have been in jail by now. I appreciate Governor Senator Uba Sani and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for their efforts to restore peace and unity in Kaduna and Nigeria. I urge them to continue their good work, remaining impartial and committed to promoting peace and unity.

My findings are clear, the crisis did not begin with Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. Its roots lie deep in historical tensions driven by indigene versus settler debates, competition over land between farming and pastoralist groups, and decades of government absence in enforcing justice and development. The conflict thrived because successive governments allowed local elites to exploit it either through weak law enforcement, political favoritism, or deliberate neglect of rural communities. The book “The Crisis of Belonging and Ethnographies of Peacebuilding in Kaduna State” particularly highlights how colonial structures and post colonial identity politics deepened the indigene settler divide. Southern Kaduna became a battlefield not because its people were naturally violent, but because politics weaponized ethnicity and religion as tools for dominance. Meanwhile, “Civil Military Relations and Conflict Management in Nigeria (2010–2017)” reveals how the crisis persisted due to inconsistent state responses weak law enforcement, poor intelligence coordination, and manipulation by politicians seeking sympathy or revenge. I must emphasize this with absolute clarity, El-Rufai inherited a region already bleeding from decades of failed leadership. When he assumed office, Southern Kaduna was a metaphor for chaos highways turned into death traps, farmlands deserted, schools destroyed, and markets crippled. Entire villages had been burned down, and the local economy was paralyzed. It was not governance, it was survival. [WATCH] THE PRESIDENT WILL NOT RESIGN. When it comes to the President, there is always a distinctive role between him being the President of the party and the state. There are many factors that influence the state in terms of governance and stability. If the President is called upon by some to resign and he keeps quiet it can throw the state into a state of turmoil. I want to make it clear that the officials agreed with the President on his approach, he took us into confidence and explained the factors that led him to make that particular pronouncement. We believe that the President did the right thing in pronouncing in the best interest of South Africa that he will not be resigning. There was nothing in terms of the judgment that warranted the President to resign it was just mere calls made by individuals and political parties that wanted to throw our country into a state of turmoil, uncertainty and anxiety. So it was imperative that he focus on that. It was correct for him to tell the country that from where he is standing there is nothing in the judgement that states he has done any wrongdoing and what he is going to do with the options in front of him and he has made this public. The President will take the Section 89 Report on review based on the outcome of the judgment and the legal advice he has received. There are no daggers out for the President to resign just opportunistic elements. These elements do not know what they want, they want to impeach and want him to resign, they do know what they actually want. The veracity of the report has not been tested in any committee so they don’t have a basis for the President to resign.

Without the JFSA led by Sir Alan, there would have been no High Court action and we would not be seeing the vindication we are seeing today, slowly justice being delivered and those so badly affected, rightly compensated (ongoing mess) and we await those responsible to be held to account. Post Office hero Bates lands seven-figure Horizon Payout‼️ Sky News has learnt that the government has agreed a deal with the former sub-postmaster after handing him what he described as a "take it or leave it" offer during the spring. Sir Alan has previously said publicly that that proposal amounted to 49.2% of his original claim. One source suggested that his final settlement may have been worth between £4m and £5m, implying that Sir Alan's claim could have been in the region of £10m, although those figures could not be corroborated on Tuesday morning. A government spokesperson said: "We pay tribute to Sir Alan Bates for his long record of campaigning on behalf of victims and have now paid out over £1.2bn to more than 9,000 victims. Sky News has attempted to reach Sir Alan for comment about the settlement of his claim. Sir Alan led efforts over many years to prove that the Horizon software system supplied by Fujitsu, the Japanese technology company, was faulty. Hundreds of sub-postmasters were wrongly prosecuted between 1999 and 2015, with scores of people either ending their own lives or making attempts to do so. However, it was only after ITV turned their fight for justice into a drama, Mr Bates vs The Post Office, that the government accelerated plans to deliver redress to victims. The scandal that puts Canadians in multigenerational debt: The Gordie Howe International Bridge project that will connect Detroit to Windsor was pitched as a billion dollar project in 2012 by the Harper government. The trouble is that the cost is now estimated to be around $7 billion dollars. However, studies suggest toll revenue will never be enough to recoup the cost, and with interest payments the bridge will likely require decades of taxpayer subsidies that could amount to $52 billion dollars. Here are the facts: 📌 There is an already existing bridge in the area called the Ambassador bridge which offered to build a second span for free. 📌 American government is not paying a dime for the project, and Canada is paying for all costs including the custom compound and the highway interchange on U.S. soil. 📌 In 2010 the government manufactured the DRIC report to justify the new bridge, it had gross miscalculations and inaccuracies in projecting the cross border traffic to increase over decades to come. 📌 Empirical data shows that cross border traffic has overall declined more than 50% in the area for last 2 decades, and there’s no reason for it to rebound. 📌 Studies demonstrate that even if the traffic stopped declining, and Gordie Howe were to charge 3 times more in toll than the ambassador bridge next door, and drivers were to prefer to chose paying more for some reason, taxpayers would still have to subsidize the bridge for at least 6 decades. 📌 The procurement process was shady as transparency and fairness letters were issued 1 day before the awarding. 📌 AECON dropped out of the bidding process the last business day, and then was allowed back in to join the winning consortium for reasons unknown. 📌 The construction giants that bid against each other in this project are actively working together on other multi billion dollar P3 projects across Canada while bidding against each other in other projects. 📌 Amarjeet Sohi was the infrastructure minister at the time whose brother’s trucking company that he did not disclose was already doing business with VINCI in the federally funded Regina bypass project. Navdeep Bains blocked AECON’s sale to China, and Sohi allowed AECON to join back into this dream project for some reason. Bains was also giving sole sourced contracts to Sohi’s brother’s trucking company. 📌 WDBA says they expect to finish off paying the bridge in 30 years by collecting toll revenue, and then start splitting the revenues with the state of Michigan. But given that toll revenue alone will not even be enough to pay the hundreds of millions of dollars in annual interest, the Michigan taxpayers might be asked to pay for the bridge to make up for the shortfalls in toll revenue. 📌 Canadian politicians both liberal and conservative have put Canadians in multigenerational debt by actively participating with nefarious construction giants. 📌 Allegations of bid-rigging are worrisome as corrupt companies like SNC-Lavalin participated in the bidding while they were under a 10-year ban by the World Bank for committing corruption in the poorest countries of the world. 📌ACS which the project was awarded to also have a history of corruption around the world. 📌 VINCI which partnered up with SNC on the GHIB project was already working with Sohi’s brother’s trucking company on the Regina bypass project. This is how an unnecessary bridge that was pitched as a billion dollar project ended up costing $7 billion dollars, and will require tens of billions of dollars in subsidies to make up for the shortfall in toll revenue. An analysis of the (Green) Heinrich Böll Foundation panel from 2016 First, a note about the participants: - Hadi Ghaemi served on the board of NIAC (the regime's lobby group) for many years and later founded the NGO “Center for Human Rights in Iran.” As leaks of his communications with Trita Parsi from that time show, Ghaemi’s explicit goal was to establish an NGO that did not advocate for the overthrow of the regime. The fact that Ghaemi was a member of NIAC is being kept under wraps. - Omid Nouripour (a Green Party politician) has had ties to NIAC-members for years. The linked post shows how he has helped stabilize the regime for many years. - Ziba Mir-Hosseini is advocating for women’s rights and gender equality within Islam. - The moderator and initiator of the panel is Ali Fathollah-Nejad (CMEG). He, too, has a long history of ties to NIAC members. His entire political work is based on preserving the regime through, for example, pro-JCPOA and anti-sanctions stances. About the panel: 1. The entire panel does not even once question the legitimacy of the Islamic Republic itself. Everyone is engaged in an intellectual discussion about how to bring about small improvements within the regime. They all accept that it isn’t working, that execution rates are rising, and that change would take a long time.
