Last year Rachel Reeves said that extending the freeze on income tax thresholds hurts working people & takes more money out of their payslips & she wouldn't be doing that because she was keeping her promises made in the manifesto. So she won't be doing it today either, right?

Now Starmer and Reeves refuse to deny they are planning to break that promise to pay for more and more welfare. Labour is choosing higher taxes to pay for higher welfare, and working people will pay the price.

I said Rachel Reeves’ first Budget would go down as one of the most anti-business Budgets in history and that Rachel Reeves would be the destroyer of jobs. Sadly, I was right. Rachel Reeves may now be gone, but her legacy remains: more than 200,000 jobs lost, higher taxes and weaker business confidence. Britain needs a Government that backs business, not punishes it.
