American has an old box of Kraft Mac & Cheese from 2010 When comparing the ingredients list to new box, she finds Kraft Mac & Cheese has significantly changed their recipe In fact, they have been gradually changing their recipe to give us less cheese and less other ingredients for decades In the mid 90s the recipe contained buttermilk powder and they even added cheese compared to previous recipes Then it all goes downhill “Present day has zero buttermilk powder. There's less than 2% cheese, and they've also added tapioca starch because that's an extra thickener that's gonna compensate for the lack of cheese.”
