Jordan Walsh is coming into Summer League with a new mentality: “When I went into it last year, I was kind of in the mentality of trying to be like Jayson Tatum, be Jaylen Brown. And it’s like, that’s not the same team, that’s not who I am, I’m not those guys. Now I’m going with the mentality of being me, being the best player that I can be, to affect winning in every [part] of the game.”

COACHES: So many teams at higher levels are swarming on the PK on 50/50 pucks in the corner. I love this mentality but you have to be detailed and all your players have to be on the same page. On this goal, VAN tries swarm as the puck goes to the corner off the retrieval. But watch the VAN forward - he needs to seal the wall and not allow the low to high keeping it contained in the corner. He has his stick up and is a step late allowing the puck to go up to the point. CGY then does a great job attacking quick before VAN can get back into lanes and their structure. Playing aggressive like this is a great mentality, but for it to work it has to be ALL IN with everyone detailed and doing their job. Great teaching clip!!
