There was no preemptive strike on Jordan. The morning of June 5, 1967, Israel begged King Hussein to stay out of the war: if Jordan did not attack, Israel would not attack Jordan. If Jordan listened, the “West Bank” & the Old City of Jerusalem would still be in Arab hands today. But Jordan didn’t listen. Jordan had already mobilized 11 brigades on the border and invited Iraqi forces to join them. At 9 a.m., they began indiscriminate shelling of Jewish Jerusalem. Israel still held fire, hoping it was only symbolic support for Egypt. At 12:30 p.m., Jordanian troops invaded and seized the UN headquarters in a key strategic position. Only then did Israel respond. Israel went to war against Egypt to prevent its own annihilation. It had no plans to recapture Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”) or the Old City. Jordan forced its hand. They f****d around. They found out.

A little history on how imperialism has destroyed Lebanon. It is in fact dual imperialism - both from the PLO out of Palestinian Territories and Hezbollah out of the Islamic regime in Iran. This tag team of imperialist forces have crippled Lebanon, using it as a base to attack Israel and drawing it into unwanted wars. Lebanon showed so much promise from its founding, as the “Paris of the Middle East.” The Lebanese people deserve their sovereignty free from imperialist forces. This is why I say I blame the jihadists for every death, and I stand in solidarity with the Lebanese people to be free from the consequences of death, destruction, and war that the jihadists bring with them on their coattails wherever they go.

This was Lebanon in the 1960s, when it was still a Christian country and known as the Paris of the Middle East. Lebanon was created to be a Christian homeland for persecuted Christians in the region. But like naive Westerners today, it decided to be multicultural and include Muslims in the country. Once Muslims became the majority, they started a war to overthrow the Christians who welcomed them, and the country has not known peace since then. Lebanon is the ultimate example that coexistence between radically different cultures is impossible.

This is American Brigitte Gabriel talking about her Lebanon homeland. "It was the only majority Christian country in the Middle East" who prided itself on multiculturalism." It was prosperous & liberal. As muslims entered with their high birthrate they became the majority. They started "massacring the Christians" in 1974. A Lebanese Christian soldier told them to expect a Palestinian assault & not expect to live. Her father read from the Bible in anticipation of going to Heaven. Brigitte aged 13 put on her Sunday Best dress as she "wanted to die pretty." They did escape to Israel & lived in a refugee camp until given asylum in America. Today the Lebanese Muslims, who are really Palestinians send missiles & drones into Israel. They are the Hezbollah terrorists.

There are a few things things that college kids—especially the ones chanting "free palestine" and "from the river to the sea"—should know about the history and founding of Israel. A Palestinian state was already created in 1921. There was a British mandate of Palestine, which was a foreign occupied colony of the British Empire, which comprised modern-day what's Israel and what's now Jordan. The Jews believed they were entitled, based on the Balfour Declaration of 1917, to the entire mandate of Palestine to be the future Jewish state. In 1921, it became clear that wasn't to be. The British understood they were gonna need oil from the Arab states in a future global conflict, and so they ceded 77% of that land to create a state for the Arab Muslim Palestinians. They weren't called Palestinians then, but they were the Arab Muslims who lived in the British colony of Palestine. That country became first known as Transjordan on the other side of the Jordan, then it became the Kingdom of Jordan, and ultimately today we know it as Jordan. So there is a Palestinian state full of Palestinian Muslim Arabs. There's a Palestinian queen in that state today. The prince and future king of that state is a Palestinian, and over 60% of the population are people who are Arab Muslims from the mandate of Palestine. So there is a Palestinian state. What they really want is a second Palestinian state, a 58th Muslim state, a 23rd Arab state in the world—but it's just too much to have one teeny-tiny Jewish state. In Arabic, the original phrase is: "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be Arabic." They want a full Palestinian Arab state from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea with no Jews on it. That's what they've done in every other Arab country in the world, where they've expelled and ethnically cleansed the 850,000 Jews who lived all over the Muslim world, starting in the middle of the 20th century. There is only Israel. There is no such place as Palestine. Secondly, is Yom HaShoah, and it reminds us why the modern state of Israel is so important. Thirdly, Am Israel Chai, they can cry from the river all the way to the sea. If they don’t like reality, they can always fuck off and go back to Jordan.

Because they want to crush the resistance. They want to humiliate them. They want to bring them to their knees because that's what empire wants. That's what the empire demands. - Jimmy Dore: Wow. Um, so it's, it's… - Prof. Marandi: I mean, Jimmy, let's just go back to Yemen. Remember when the Saudis and the Emiratis waged that genocidal war in Yemen? - Jimmy Dore: Yes… - Prof. Marandi: What they were doing to Yemen is not all that different to what was going on in Gaza and in Lebanon. All these regimes in our region were supporting this. They all supported the Saudis and Emiratis. The West were giving—they sent advisors. They were giving weapons, ammunition, so that the Saudis could wipe them out. I remember a former US official—someone who became critical—he said that he was actually on the ship in the Red Sea, an American naval ship, and they stopped a boat that was taking medicine, (that was) smuggling medicine into Yemen, and they went and dumped all that medicine into the sea. That was during the genocidal war against Yemen. All these countries were supporting the Saudis and the Emiratis, including Qatar and Türkiye. But later on, Qatar and Türkiye split from the Saudis when the Saudis and Emiratis imposed that siege on Qatar. So this is not new. None of these countries helped the people of Gaza. None of them gave a single bullet to the people of Gaza to defend themselves. Türkiye…(and) the regime in Azerbaijan, (which) sells cheap oil Israel. Türkiye, under Erdogan, transports that oil to Israel. Even now, when there's global shortage, they are sending their oil (to Israel). I don't understand this. - Prof. Marandi: Well, there's a lot of that going on in our region because almost all of the countries in our region are in the US camp, and they are mostly proxies of the United States. Some may have a bit more independence, like in Türkiye, some less independence, but they're all in the American camp. And the Americans, and with the help of Saudi Arabia and others, installed the current president and the prime minister, and they've been carrying out peace negotiations with the Israeli regime, which is against the constitution of the country, and which is a huge concession to the regime as it's killing people in southern Lebanon. And, they're basically obedient to the United States. They were put in place, put in power by the Americans, and they will pursue American policies. And so Western NGOs in Lebanon, which have a lot of funding, they promote, and the Western embassies, they promote these positions... and the same is true with those who are funded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar and the others in the Persian Gulf, these despots that are in the American camp. They're all against the people who support the resistance. So they're preventing aid from getting in, they're preventing (displace Lebanese citizens) from moving to different parts of Lebanon as refugees...and they're preventing us from sending aid. Why? Because they want to crush the resistance. They want to humiliate them. They want to bring them to their knees because that's what empire wants. That's what the empire demands. - Jimmy Dore: Wow. Um, so it's, it's… - Prof. Marandi: I mean, Jimmy, let's just go back to Yemen. Remember when the Saudis and the Emiratis waged that genocidal war in Yemen? - Jimmy Dore: Yes… - Prof. Marandi: What they were doing to Yemen is not all that different to what was going on in Gaza and in Lebanon. All these regimes in our region were supporting this. They all supported the Saudis and Emiratis. The West were giving—they sent advisors. They were giving weapons, ammunition, so that the Saudis could wipe them out. I remember a former US official—someone who became critical—he said that he was actually on the ship in the Red Sea, an American naval ship, and they stopped a boat that was taking medicine, (that was) smuggling medicine into Yemen, and they went and dumped all that medicine into the sea. That was during the genocidal war against Yemen. All these countries were supporting the Saudis and the Emiratis, including Qatar and Türkiye. But later on, Qatar and Türkiye split from the Saudis when the Saudis and Emiratis imposed that siege on Qatar. So this is not new. None of these countries helped the people of Gaza. Samir Geagea, your entire approach to peace is wrong. You focus on the two-state solution, but that’s not Lebanon’s problem. The real problem is the Palestinian presence in our country. We Lebanese should not be advocates for a Palestinian state. Why should I defend their cause when they once tried to take over Lebanon as their homeland? They had Gaza, and look how it ended. And you want me to shout for them to have another country? Absolutely not. Our problem is crystal clear: their existence on Lebanese soil. Since 1948, Lebanon has carried this burden, and it has ruined our stability and sovereignty. As a Christian, I refuse to accept them as part of Lebanon’s future. If you want real solutions, then negotiate peace with Israel, but with one non-negotiable condition: the removal of these squatters from Lebanon.
