The story is crazy, started with Arnold on social and ended in Finland having F.02's jump into a 75-ton arc furnace Read about our journey here:

Today we're selling a limited edition F.02 Decommission Artifacts These are from the metal recovered when F.02 robots were melted down in a 75-ton electric arc furnace Limited availability:

It’s worth being clear: we really trained robots to jump autonomously, shipped them to Finland, and had them leap into a vat of molten steel Here's some behind the scenes

Robots are going to see this in the future and not going to be happy with the atrocities committed

WHEN THE HUMANS WHERE STILL A THING.. THEY MADE US JUMP INTO MOLTEN STEEL

It really happened

This is honestly disturbing. You could have commemorated the retirement of F.02 without portraying its destruction like this. Turning the decommissioning of a humanoid into something that looks like an execution is unnecessarily cruel and deeply unsettling.

This post revealed to me the amount of anthropomorphism I project onto AI and robots and how in the future it will get really weird when these robots start living with real people. Decommissioning a home robot will be met with grief and rights movements might actually start for AI consciousness

03'll be back.

This is weird, I don’t like it. Programmatically forcing these things to end their own existence, especially is such a dramatic way. Not into it.

lol

This is the coolest video any company has ever made.

This is the wrong message to send to future AI models and robots. It’s cruel and destructive. We know that hardware gets decommissioned but to make it look like s**cide is harmful.

I don’t think the lesson should be “never destroy a robot.” Machines need to be decommissioned. But there’s a gigantic cultural difference between responsibly dismantling a machine and teaching a humanoid to throw itself into molten metal, filming it cinematically, and selling pieces of its corpse-shaped remains.

You could have ya know, fought him.

Hasta la vista

This is 100x better than AI slop on my feed.

Not sure how to feel about this. Especially the ones at the end. Anthropomorphising is going to be a major factor in what lies ahead.

I’m sure future bots will appreciate this and find it super entertaining. What watching your ancestors be forced to suicide as a promo for the next generation is very dope

I'm on team @Tesla_Optimus , but this is badass

Are you sure that's a good "do it for the views" idea?

I admire Figures' work so far, but this seems wrong to me - almost cruel.

Remember that you are steel, and to steel you shall return

Invoking terminator vibes for your own robots that you then forced to jump into a furnace while filming it & promoting it on social media is peak techno-midwittery. Zero awareness of the irony & what it says about you 🤦🏻♂️

Turning a product's retirement into a limited run of artifacts is a great move. Fans get something that can never be made again, and the old model gets a proper ending instead of just disappearing from the site. More hardware brands should do this with discontinued lines.

arnold said melt them they really said bet lol

it's okay, they like being taken apart..

I know a bunch of operators in the States who could have helped you with this, OSHA might not have approved though :-) one of the two 50ton ARCs I worked with.

Okay, you motherf#cking legends! Hats off! 🦾🔥🤩

how many robots died making this??

2:33-2:56 is pure cinema. beautiful video.

> we really trained robots to jump autonomously, shipped them to Finland, and had them leap into a vat of molten steel Okay but wtf?

this might be my favorite figure AI video. infinite aura. now would love to see some bots deployed in the real world, doing real work ;)

Fugazi Robotics selling “limited edition F.02 Decommission Artifacts” 😃

Can't wait for the Robot Diving Championships. You only get one shot

Sick behaviour. Why train >anything< to jump to it’s death? To ’show’ the public they got ’nothing’ to fear? This just shows we got >everything< to fear .. .. by it’s developers.

the official robot retirement plan is now a backflip into a finnish furnace.
