Today is a day of warriors who carry out extremely difficult and dangerous work every day. They support our units on the frontline, evacuate the wounded, and strike the enemy. Today, army aviation is also carrying out another mission of extraordinary importance. Modernized Ukrainian helicopters have become an effective part of protecting our skies from Russian drones. Army aviation warriors have now shot down thousands of enemy targets. And this is Ukraine’s unique experience. I thank every army aviation warrior for their service, for every sortie and every mission accomplished, for protecting our people. We will always remember and be grateful to all army aviation warriors who defended Ukraine and gave the most precious thing in this struggle: their lives. Eternal honor to the heroes. Happy Day of the Army Aviation of the Ground Forces of Ukraine!

Every night and every day, they intercept Russian Shahed drones and missiles. This morning, they successfully shot down a Russian ballistic missile. Every success like this saves lives. Ukraine is deeply grateful to all our partners who provide interceptor missiles and air defense systems. We are currently working to secure additional supplies—missiles, defense systems, and everything necessary to strengthen our mobile fire groups. Our strategic goal is to reach a practical level of cooperation with our partners that allows us to produce the air defense systems and interceptor missiles we need here in Ukraine. I am grateful to everyone who helps us.

As Tropical Storm Lee continues to move slowly across the province, parts of Nova Scotia are experiencing wind gusts that can make conditions hazardous for our crews. When wind speeds are over 80km an hour, it isn’t safe for our crews to be up in the buckets and so we focus on assessing damage, responding to 911 calls, and restoring power from the ground where possible. In some parts of the province, we anticipate that these significant winds will continue for much of today. We do our best to give an estimate of when power will be restored. As we continue to assess damage across the province, we will update estimates. We encourage everyone to keep an eye on for the latest information. The safety of our customers and crews is our top priority. If you come across downed wires, please stay back and do not try to move them yourself. I am heartbroken to see reports that the wildfire has entered the townsite of Jasper. The safety of everyone is our number one priority, and thankfully the town was evacuated earlier this week. I want to thank all of our firefighters and crews who have been hard at work fighting this fire day and night. The Town of Jasper and Jasper National Park have all hands on deck. Alberta Wildfire is on the ground to supporting them. Our government will have more to say tomorrow, but in the meantime please keep Jasper in your thoughts and your prayers. #JasperStrong #AlbertaStrong
