Q: Given the rule changes, how satisfying is this for the whole team to arrive here and get such a solid number of laps on the board straight away and starting to learn about your new car? "Well, I mean it could be so much worse." 😭 "Such a big rule regulation change, so to get through the day without too many major, there were no major issues, it's just small little increments that we're trying to improve on, I think it's great and as I said, we just need to try and get some more days like this." "Well, hoping to experience the car on the dry and I think just understanding balance, understanding the new SM that we have and how to utilise it and feel it, I've not driven it in the dry so I don't really have a feeling for it, obviously we drove it in the wet which is only the front part and then just understanding the deployment, I think deployment's going to be crucial and understanding that, how to utilise the power, the battery throughout the lap and recharging, all that kind of stuff but I mean we've done a huge amount of work, everyone's done a huge amount of work on the simulator so it's not like it's 100% brand new for us but we still have to go through our sessions and through the data to try and optimise it." #F1Testing

I think it's just the way of this track, you know. It's a massively demanding circuit. It's amazing to drive. But getting the right balance, and I think, interestingly, there's something... I think it's just something in how this car is set up. There's kind of some similarities to what I felt last year, so we're just working on that." McAvoy on if he feels any hesitation to make a big hit: "How often do I need to do that is probably the question. Can you still impose a threat just being who you are, just closing on guys? That's probably something that I'm trying to look at versus trying to make a big hit multiple times in 82 games. I think I play too many minutes and try and to do too much to maybe do that as often as you'd like to. So, I think maybe playing smarter is something I'll be trying to do this year."
