FAA regulations are restricting American innovation. I introduced the SAM Act, which directs the FAA to allow supersonic flight so long as no sonic boom reaches the ground. We must foster innovation to maintain U.S. leadership in next-generation aerospace technology.

I'd recommend giving @FAANews more than a year so they can write regulations allowing supersonic overland flight using data from the NASA X-59 no-boom supersonic trials. Forcing regs in a year with an arm tied behind their back isn't ideal. Give them two years at minimum.

Yes you must, in fact think bigger. Think about evolving the National Airspace System, NAS. Why? The FAA does not innovate and has no stake in any outcome other than their process. The 24B$ FAA budget that doubles every ten years is the aviation industry leader. The entire aviation industry reacts to their 'NextGen plan'. The NAS needs to 'evolve' not just 'modernize'. Remember how the FAA has evolved in the past? They started with 'communications out' flight plans for separation of air traffic. Next came radios in the 1930's and the system evolved by using Flight plans, station keeping and position reports. Then RADAR in the 1960's. Now the FAA could safely separate air traffic three ways. This model began to struggle in the late 60's. This model is now failing, mainly because the FAA has not evolved with modern communication systems. Examples; FedEx almost landing on SouthWest, the horrible DC crash, SouthWest almost landing on a business jet... The FAA has two generations of thinking the only way to operate is in terms of radios and RADAR. All the Billions $ in technology goes to this failing model. In fact the whole world suffers the same issue. That is huge opportunity for America to fix the worlds NAS. You're looking at Trillions $ economic and technological supply side growth for America - National goals and private solutions.
