Fable 5.1 is going to change everything. I put GitHub Copilot in autopilot and fed it a single prompt - generate a fully functional first-person multiplayer game where you play as a baby bird learning to fly...

"Your task is to build a first person (chase camera) multi-player game where the user plays as a baby bird leaving the nest and exploring a bucolic countryside rich with interactions, structures, games and delightful discoveries. This game should be visually stunning such that it draws the user in and makes them never want to leave. Test all your work and do not stop until you have created a "breath of the wild" caliber visual experience. Everything should run in the browser."

I've added a bunch of features since the initial prompt but so much of what you see in that video was from the initial one shot. And because I think if you're going to make claims like I just did, you gotta publish your work...

Full disclosure that I have no idea what will happen if too many people join at once. It's on the cheapest possible hosting tier. I also have not tested on all hardware so no clue if your machine can handle it or not. But lets find out.

@github Oh ma gawd

@github "Now make it multi-player, make no mistakes"

@github It's already multiplayer! That happened in the one shot!

@github

@github Dude, that is delightful

@github I wish I could take credit for it 😭

@github I mean it was your idea

@github Kind of. To be honest, I stole the general concept from @levelsio who made the original multiplayer flying game and I always wanted to do something similar but with birds where everything was super relaxing.

@github @levelsio We're allowed to be happy to build on previous ideas... :) anyway, it was delightful

@github @levelsio ty sir!

@github Nice idea, but the cost must be enormous if you’ve created several levels for it.

@github I'm sure it was astronomical. I didn't have access to cost data at this time, so I don't actually know.

@github told ya once u fable nothing else will do

@github It's like being in first class. You cannot go back to coach. Or you can, but it's miserable.

@github Just wau, this is absolutely amazing

@github i'm just...i've got nothing man. I don't even know what to think about this.

@FBakkensen @github it's the worst it will ever be. I'm glad you got to try Fable.

@FBakkensen @github I had thought of your comment about "you gotta try fable" while I was testing this model. You were right. There is Fable, and then there is everything else.

@FBakkensen @github What happened? How did you got access ;-)

@FBakkensen @github sometimes good things happen to people who don't deserve them :)

@github So there was a big focus on training on a game engine outputs. Idk how useful for the real world it is 😁

@github It's a beauty

@github I know!

@github OK well that was actually delightful. Tons of hidden little quests and stuff! Grab the moonstone from under the waterfall.

@github You found the moonstone!

@github How much did the tokens cost?

@github I don't have that data point. But I'm going to guess a lot.

@edandersen @github You know you succeed in life when you have unmetered access to AI inference

@edandersen @github they call those "golden handcuffs"

@github Poof, and just like that, $100 in credit is gone. It truly changes everything.

@github I'm sure it was way more than that :)

@github Hey, I found your nest! Very cool. Hard to believe this was a single prompt considering all the interactivity and variety of features.

@github I have added a bunch of small details - like being able to build nests. But the camera controls, the grass, structures, mountains, weather, sky, creatures, birds, interactivity - all of this was part of the one shot.

@github That’s pretty impressive! It’s beautiful on my iPhone

@github Yeah - it works remarkably well on mobile. I wish I could take credit for any of this.

@github AI is building on the shoulders of giants thats for sure.

@github This is really cool, how many AIC in GitHub Copilot did it take to create?

@github Not gonna lie I played it for a bit haha it was pretty cool

@github > Fable 5.1 is going to change everything Yawn. How many times has this has been said about previous models 🤔?

@github I have only said it once before. That was when Opus 4.5 came out. I do not talk about models hyperbolically. Or I try really hard not to. I did not say this about any subsequent Opus version or any other model.

@github Sure, but you have to admit, your vibe-coded game is questionable proof for that level of disruption. Show me a vibe-coded multiplayer game on par with AAA titles.

@github I did have this exact thought - a game is not proof of anything. So I built a collaborative markdown editor as well - like google docs but for markdown and you can bring your agent in to collaborate

@github And again - these things are not conclusive proof. With AI we just don't know. So it would be accurate to say that when I say it's going to change everything, that is at best a prediction.

@github A fully functional first-person multiplayer game from a single prompt?! That's wild. How long did it actually take Copilot to build this end-to-end?

@github It even has a Google Preview Image?!?!!

@github I mean - yeah. It has everything and I specified none of that stuff. I literally did almost nothing here.

@github Holy... I used to fear AI won't ever let me land a job as developer. Now I fear it won't ever let me land a job as project manager.

@github I'm very curious if you could share the cost of doing this?

@github It so tempting to throw it a one shot, spend all your allowance and credits, and end up with a weird game that no-one will ever play.

@github huh, I don't recognize this Pokémon.

@github gotta catch em all!
