I dont understand why isn't @HCI_Ottawa advocating this amidst G7 threats to Modi. This woman was denied entry into a restaurant because they claimed to be full yet others were walking in. After she caught them letting others in she was told it would be a $5 fee. But the other people weren’t charged the same fee. The restaurant was having a World Cup event and was charging a $5 fee for people to enter. The people she saw walking in was part of another group that already paid. However she didn’t know that and there was no way for her to know that, so she drew her own conclusions on why she wasn’t allowed in. Just like in my last post, it would avoid so much confusion and drama if these establishments just posted a simple sign, otherwise it can be easy to jump to a wrong conclusion as to why people can’t get in but others can. There was a time I had tried to get into my local pool and the same thing happened. I wasn’t allowed in and others were walking in no problems at all. I sat there and wondered why, it’s not like they showed ID, there didn’t seem to be a list of names or anything and this place goes by membership which I have a membership for. So what other reason could it be to deny me? The pool also has a gym and a banquet room where people can reserve for events for a fee. Normally they have signage as for the event and who it was for but this day I didn’t see anything indicating any event would be taking place. I did end up leaving. The following week I went to work out and I did speak to a manager to see what the happened. It turned out the pool area was closed due to an accident. Someone slipped and fell, so that’s why I wasn’t allowed into the pool area. Others were walking in to use the other facilities that the location offers. So it was a reasonable reason but all it took was for someone to give an explanation and it could have saved much headache. I feel when an establishment is in business for the public that they owe us an explanation otherwise it turns into a huge headache for them.

October 7th was the start of something that changed the trajectory of an entire generation, and I watched it unfold as just a senior in high school. This is what it means to come of age while a genocide was livestreamed and normalized while world leaders sent weapons instead of aid. I was radicalized by watching children in Gaza get bombed while American politicians clapped for it. The silence was complicity. And we’ll never unsee what they tried to keep buried. This time we weren’t too young to understand what was happening in front of our faces…understood enough to never be able to forgive them for it.

I’m on the ground in Surrey BC at Kap’s Cafe to see the destruction of last night’s shooting. Kap’s Cafe is owned by a very famous Indian comedian, Kapil Sharma, and he made a joke that a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (listed Khalistani terrorist org in 🇨🇦) didn’t like so he had someone go to the cafe while the employees were still inside and fire an entire magazine at them. Or at least that’s what he is claiming, all the Khalistani news outlets and activists are saying that the Babbar Khalsa member might have done this because Modi something something Indian conspiracy, instead of the fact that he is a lifelong member of a Khalistani terrorist organization and this is kind of their thing. Who knows?

This was outside a Washington DC restaurant this evening where a Catholic dinner event was being held (I was one of a number attending). This group of protesters (there were four but you see three in this video) mounted a very high decibel noise and strobe and laser light assault on the restaurant, which is a family business. It went on for about two hours. The idea was to ruin the event and harm the business of the venue. It was to say the least, bizarre. Though I did have to laugh at them, madder than a box of monkeys. Felt bad for the business owners though.

John McTiernan on how he learnt moviemaking by watching 'Day for Night' (1972): "I remember when I decided that that's what I was going to do. I went about it like it was reverse engineering. I knew that I had to go and learn what a movie was, not just my experience of going and watching a movie. So I went and sat in Truffaut's Day for Night (1972), watched it for three days straight, eight hours at a time and memorized it shot-for-shot. I got past the story, all the original and secondary experience, so I could study what it was that I was really watching. Film is really sort of a chain that's really linear. Yet when it's all strung together, it just sort of feels like an experience. It takes quite a while to be able to deconstruct that experience to figure out what you really saw." I’ve been swarmed like this while driving in Florida. The kids were in a huge group, I couldn’t tell how many there was but it seemed like 50 of them or more. Lucky for me I wasn’t driving, I was a passenger in an Uber trying to get to the airport. The Uber driver must have had experience with them because he was just driving along like normal while I was thinking they were going to hit us. The rest of the ride seemed to go without a hitch. This woman was just going to the store when they looked like they targeted her and was riding the bikes recklessly. They were swerving as if they were going to hit her and riding while doing wheelies. I don’t know about you but I’m tired of this. I can only speak out against this for so many times until something bad happens and then everyone wants to play the blame game and act surprised that it happened. Am I against kids having fun? No of course not. But I want them to be safe too instead of becoming a statistic. There has to be a better way of dealing with them, maybe ban the unlicensed version and only sell the one that has to have a plate and registration. That would require them to have insurance and proper training. Do I have the answer? No I don’t, but somebody does and we have to figure this out.

Make no mistake, the Khalistan "referendum" that took place at Calgary City Hall on July 28th was a terrorist convention event. A man wore a t-shirt displaying the logo of the terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa and the abbreviations of various organizations listed as either terrorist or militant by Canada and/or India. "A Sikh terrorist entity that aims to establish a fundamentalist independent Sikh state called Khalistan (Land of the Pure) in what is presently the Indian state of Punjab. BKI activities include armed attacks, assassinations, and bombings." -Gov. of Canada Santokh Singh Khela of Sikhs for Justice, previously convicted to life by a Canadian court for plotting to bomb Air India flight 112 from JFK, was given an award at the event by Ajaib Singh Bagri, who was acquitted in the 1985 Air India bombings case and who called for the slaughter of 50,000 Hindus at the World Sikh Organization's founding convention in New York in 1984. The parents of suicide bomber Dilawar Babbar who killed the Premier of Punjab also cast their votes. Ironically, their slogan was to counter India's terrorism with votes. It seems like electing someone like Jyoti Gondek, whose father was a World Sikh Organization executive, makes one's city a welcoming place for terrorist conventions.

I was going through Charlie’s memorial for a video and I had not seen this probably since it happened nearly 8 months ago. As I was watching it, I couldn’t help but sob thinking about how many people were there and how all of them were there to celebrate Charlie’s life. I still can’t believe that’s even a sentence. He made such an impact on this world! It’s so easy to get lost in what’s happening right now, that we forget what happened at his memorial. THIS is what we need to be reminded of throughout this insanity that is social media! We miss you so much, Charlie! 🩵 #CharlieKirk
