"Failure is a learning opportunity. Failure is growth." Growth doesn't happen when everything goes right. It happens when players are given the opportunity to fall short, learn from the experience, and have coaches who help them get back up and move forward. The goal isn't to eliminate failure. Agreed. Failure only becomes growth when the player leaves with a clearer target and one next action.

Failure isn't the opposite of success. It's part of the process. If you're never failing, you're probably not challenging yourself enough. Every setback is feedback. Learn from it, adjust, and keep moving forward. That's how real growth happens.

In every moment that you feel like giving up, there’s a quiet strength within you asking for one more try. So, learn to listen to it. Failure is not the finish line. Growth begins the moment you stop running from failure and start learning the lessons that it is teaching you.

Coach K shares a universal truth about failure, resilience, and growth. "When you're getting your butt kicked, it's called changing a limit." "So many parents today don't allow their kids to change limits...They're worried about them failing instead of learning. You learn through the experience of failure and success." Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better. The problem isn't failure - it's protecting people from it. "Failure was never a destination." You can't grow without accepting that there will be challenges and adversity. (🎥 Duke Fuqua School of Business )

Parents learn how to get out of the way and stay out of the way when your kid is playing. It actually inhibits success when you are coaching or yelling instructions from the stands. Growth happens with failure… as uncomfortable as that makes us as a parent. Once we recognize this, we can be intentional about remaining silent when it comes to instructing, but verbal when it comes to positive encouragement. And encourage all players. It lets your kid know that everyone on their team is important and that you care about team successes. This is fundamental in creating a team concept in your child.

"I have never been afraid to fail. Young people today, we got to put our arms around them, because kids are afraid to fail. And they look at it as failure instead of a way to grow." Failure isn't the enemy-fear is. Failure isn't final—it's the foundation for future success.

“Failure is so much more interesting than success. And it always saddens me that school doesn't teach that. At school the thing is to be brilliant and to get the answer right first time. And there are brilliant people who could do that, but for the rest of us who are not brilliant, we have to strive, and we have to go through failure. And we realize that you don't get it right the first time or the second time. In my case and I counted it. It took 5,127 times. With failure you question it “Well why did it go wrong?” And actually the reason it goes wrong is often very, very interesting. Where something works you say “Great that worked.” You don't even stop to wonder why it works. So if you've got to enjoy failure.” —James Dyson

Failure is a teacher. If you have success, you did it right, so there is probably nothing to learn. But if you have failure, there is something to learn. You have to make the most of your failures. Over time, I developed an instinctual reaction to failure. My instinct now is to view failure as a puzzle that will give me gems if I can solve it. The puzzle is simply this: What would I do differently in the future so as not to have that result? When you solve that puzzle, you write the lesson down. That is where principles come from. #RayDalio #Principles #GrowthMindset #ContinuousLearning

John Harbaugh said, "The only failure in life is not getting back up. When you get knocked down and stay down then you're a failure. But you're never a failure if you get back up." "The only person who can make you quit is yourself." Resilience is choosing to persist.
