First is a flashback right before death, showing how Cress killed his siblings to rule after his father's death and how he got bored. Sometime, he experimented on his daughter using a demonic sword, and she came back for revenge, killing him and giving the throne to her brother.

From what i could interpret.. the story mainly focuses on the red eyed wolfy king (or scythe guy) whom was adopted alongside two others by the old king. Unlike the others, he didn't quite want the throne for a selfish motive (which seemed to be the case for the other...)
