Olympian Amber Glenn has spoken out about supporting the LGBTQ+ community under the Trump administration. Glenn, who identifies as pansexual, recently announced that she is taking a break from social media following backlash for speaking out against the Trump administration. At a press conference for the Winter Olympics on February 4, Glenn said: "It's been a hard time for the community overall under this administration. It isn't the first time that we've had to come together as a community and try and fight for our human rights." She continued: "And now, especially, it's not just affecting the queer community but many other communities. And I think that we are able to support each other in a way that we didn't have to before. And, because of that, it's made us a lot stronger." On using her platform to speak about LGBTQ+ rights, she said: "I know that a lot of people say you're just an athlete, like, stick to your job, shut up about politics... but politics affect us all. Something we expected President Barack Obama to do but didn’t. This isn’t fun anymore I been getting stream sniped every stream I do and every tournaments. The amount of hate this community been giving is ridiculous. I been streaming Fortnite Mobile since August of 2025 and never gotten stream sniped until people from the FNM Community Discard found my stream to stream snipe me and harass me. These players are kids who think this is fun to bully and harass me. This ain’t funny or cool at all. I made several reports to Fortnite but they are not doing anything. And congratulations, you stopped me from getting to Unreal. This community is toxic and I’m about to be done. There’s a good chance birthday stream and custom will be canceled.

i guess i was a featured creator on this person's stream today where his chat and him both laughed at my existence all while being entirely homophobic and transphobic. Ricci i know your community would never hold you accountable, so i ask you: why? why pull up smaller creators streams (specifically queer content creators) knowing harassment will soon follow? why is that your content? you hold a power over people you do this too. YOU have an opportunity to influence kindness in this world, and instead you allow more harrassment and more negativity. It's shameful. Most people don’t realize how personal this fight is for me. My son DJ is battling cancer because of the environment and the failures of leadership right here in our own community. That kind of pain changes a man. It makes every promise I make to fix these problems more than politics it makes it personal. When I talk about holding people accountable and making sure no child ever suffers like mine did, it’s because I’ve lived it. I’ve seen what happens when those in charge neglect their duty. And I will never stop fighting to make sure it never happens again.
