The average life expectancy in Nigeria is currently around 50–54 years. Yet many of the things normalized in our everyday lifestyle , especially what we eat and drink ,are quietly contributing to long-term health problems. Which brings me to the 'System' she talked about. Who decides what becomes “acceptable” for public consumption? My dear Naija brothers and sisters… this one touches the heart NAFDAC was only fined a mere ₦2 million for approving Fanta and Sprite packed with banned dyes and chemicals that turn poisonous with Vitamin C. The main problem of the food industry is not just the producers, but regulatory agencies like NAFDAC and the SON. They know the standards these franchise bodies operate in Nigeria is not the global one. They shouldn’t allow such malpractices in the first place.

Lol Fanta differs in the EU and America the same way it differs here. This is not unique to Africa or Nigeria. They put it there because it is not illegal to do so. Blame NAFDAC. Also, consumers can choose not to drink it. I have stopped taking carbonated drinks for over a year.

Most products differ across countries. Regulation and production varies with local content, hence different terms and their conditions attached to it. It is unfair to single out "Fanta", as same will hold through across any other brand.
