The average life expectancy in Nigeria is currently around 50–54 years. Yet many of the things normalized in our everyday lifestyle , especially what we eat and drink ,are quietly contributing to long-term health problems. Which brings me to the 'System' she talked about. Who decides what becomes “acceptable” for public consumption? Because a system that allows products like this to dominate daily life is indirectly shaping the health and lifespan of millions of people. May God help us, we have to become more intentional about what we put in our bodies As @aproko_doctor says.." just drink water biko"

Chai! My dear Naija brothers and sisters… this one touches the heart NAFDAC was only fined a mere ₦2 million for approving Fanta and Sprite packed with banned dyes and chemicals that turn poisonous with Vitamin C. Just ₦2 million… while our children, parents, and loved ones keep drinking what other countries rejected. We already struggle daily with poor hospitals, expensive treatment, and failing medical care. Must we also poison ourselves with everyday drinks? Enough is enough. No more ignorance. No more “e go be.”Let’s rise together:#HealthNotHarmNaija #PureNaijaRevolt Boycott the harm! Demand same quality as abroad, bold warnings, and real punishment for those killing us slowly. Tag NAFDAC and Coca-Cola. Share this with everyone you love. Our lives matter. Our children’s future matters. This is our revolt for health! #HealthNotHarmNaija #PureNaijaRevolt

OMO... We're not but just bloody consumers to these criminals. The part that scared me where she said our Fanta in Nigeria is unfit for Humans in the UK. Does that mean we're animals in Nigeria.

The main problem of the food industry is not just the producers, but regulatory agencies like NAFDAC and the SON. They know the standards these franchise bodies operate in Nigeria is not the global one. They shouldn’t allow such malpractices in the first place.

Excellent piece of reportage. There should be a huge class action lawsuit against the global giant Coca-Cola and the likes, Nigeria Bottling Company, and NAFDAC

People been drinking fanta for decades, plus fanta abroad is same color as the deep orange. Focus your journalism on more urgent matters. Like insecurity , corruption and the plight of the people.

These kinds of eye-opening clips are for those who still take soda and fizzy drinks. Wetin concern me with Fanta and its actual colour or taste when water and other organic liquids full everywhere?

Lol Fanta differs in the EU and America the same way it differs here. This is not unique to Africa or Nigeria. They put it there because it is not illegal to do so. Blame NAFDAC. Also, consumers can choose not to drink it. I have stopped taking carbonated drinks for over a year.

But is there anything or anyone that still has humanity in them across Nigeria's sectors? Cus wtf really? 😫 Security men will choose money over protecting the people, politicians, the same thing, now NAFDAC? 🤦🏽

Most products differ across countries. Regulation and production varies with local content, hence different terms and their conditions attached to it. It is unfair to single out "Fanta", as same will hold through across any other brand.

Fanta varies quite a bit across countries, both in color and flavor. tailors recipes to local taste preferences, ingredient availability, and regulatory requirements around food dyes and additives.

Every drink in Nigeria is poisonous. NAFDAC is useless and so is their NAFDAC number on products.
