Farewell Bill Oddie...

That was one of my favourite shows growing up. Rest in peace Bill 🫡

Sad to hear. The Goodies bought me so many laughs!

I’m amazed how well I remember those titles. I could only have been about 5. After The Clangers, it was my favourite programme.

I remember watching this when it aired in the US back in the late 70s.

@shakeyknee Loved this lot as a kid !

Why do we never see these harmless, silly yet very funny shows on TV anymore?

My favourite show as a kid in Australia. Bill was the most humble but also the funniest. Pure working class CLASS.

Can still remember, aged 7, being sent to bed when I knew The Goodies would be on. I was determined not to miss it so I snuck out of bed to watch the telly through the keyhole of the living room door. But I just couldn't stop giggling as the titles rolled so that didn't work ...

@AlanJepson4 The Goodies cover of Wild Thing is one of the best things ever committed to vinyl. That a hill I will have a sit down and nice cup of tea on.

Been nothing as good since. Rip Bill.

RIP Bllloddie 💐 Thank you for the laughs & for being a good friend to nature & birdlife 🌿🐦⬛

Such fun memories watching this as a kid. Thier humour helped shape my sense of humour. Thank you Mr Oddie. 🕯️🙏🏼

I remember "The Goodies" with great fondness--not as hip or daring as "Python" but ingenious and quirky nonetheless.

Bill's were the only working pedals on the Trandem, so he had to the weight of all 3 of them!

Bill ❤️

I loved the Goodies! This is very sad news 🥺😭

Don't tell me

Such a good show. RIP.

💙🩷💜💚

Aww, I loved the Goodies

Oh no 😕

👏👏👏😢

👌

By all accounts a decent bloke - however I found the Goodies was not a programme I cared to watch - not my type of humour

Did he fall into a giant sausage machine?

I reckon Bruce Dickinson was Bill Oddie's secret love child, they look so similar.
