Fascist Baroness Floella Benjamin has introduced a Private Member’s Bill in the Lords. The Social Media Platforms (Ofcom Licensing) Bill & would require platforms to hold an Ofcom licence. The only saving grace is that it's unlikely to become law. I'd be in prison no doubt.

Spain Rules Out Extensions For MiCA Crypto Licence Deadline Spain's markets watchdog CNMV confirmed there will be no exceptions or extensions to the EU's MiCA licensing deadline at end of June. Chair Carlos San Basilio made the statement at an event in Santander on Friday. Binance, which failed to secure a licence in Greece, is among the major platforms still without authorisation. San Basilio said regulators are in close contact with unlicensed firms to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations. Investors using unauthorised platforms after the deadline will lose MiCA protections entirely, he warned.

House Bill 3 forbids kids 13 and younger from creating social media accounts and requires the platforms to seek out and remove their profiles. Call me crazy but I thought that Republicans were for "Parental rights", and was the party of "little government". I thought they were for "First Amendment rights". I'm against this new law because Parents should decide what's best for their kids, not politicians.

Disobeying the South African Police Service National Instruction 5 of 2017 is a punishable offence in terms of disciplinary regulations. The new trend of posting pictures and video clips in uniform on various social media platforms, directly contravenes National Instruction 5 of 2017. According to Section 19(10) of National Instruction 5 of 2017 on Media Communication in the South African Police Service, the following rules must be adhered to: No member may, on their own accord, represent the SAPS on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc., either on their own social media accounts or those belonging to the SAPS. No member may use a profile picture of themselves in uniform or display any police insignia, badges, or logos as their avatar on their private social media accounts. Only with the approval of the Head of Corporate Communication and Liaison may a social media profile be set up for or on behalf of the SAPS on any social network. Accordingly, no station, cluster, unit, or office of the SAPS is permitted to have a social media profile or account without approval. These regulations ensure that all members execute their duties professionally within the confines of the law. Any employee who transgresses in any form or manner will be subjected to the processes of the applicable Disciplinary Regulations. All SAPS members are required to subscribe to the SAPS Code of Conduct and Dress Code and adhere to them when performing their daily duties and interacting with the public. Your efficiency, professionalism, integrity, respect, and empathy are vital to service delivery and the SAPS’s reputation, which in turn influences the community's trust in their police service.

[UNDER INVESTIGATION] An investigation is underway regarding an incident (with video circulated on various social media platforms) whereby a SAPS Constable allegedly assaulted a member of the public. The incident is said to have occurred on 02 April 2026, at the Volksrust Police Station. It is worth noting that in light of the serious allegation, the SAPS has instituted an internal investigation to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. In addition to the internal investigation, a criminal investigation is also underway to ensure all aspects of this matter are addressed transparently. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has been notified of the incident and it is expected that a parallel investigation will be conducted by this Directorate.
