From Creator to Founder: The Rollercoaster Journey of Building Chatter Social Man, what a journey it’s been so far. Four years ago, I was just another creator, spending late nights on Clubhouse during the height of the pandemic. Like so many others, I was searching for connection, for community, for something meaningful. But what I found there wasn’t just connection—it was purpose. Alongside my brother, Jonathan Bing, we built a nightly show that reached over 5 million people. Imagine that: 5 million lives touched by conversations that felt real and unfiltered, all on a platform that at its peak had 10 million monthly active users. Clubhouse was magic. But then the decline began. Watching the platform struggle, I couldn’t help but reflect: what made it great? What went wrong? And what could the future look like if we did things differently? The Spark of Chatter As a content creator, I understood the needs of both creators and users. I knew what excited people, what kept them engaged, and what made them leave. Clubhouse had tapped into something special, but it had missed the mark on scalability and sustainability. By September 2023, I couldn’t stop thinking about the potential for something new—something that brought back the magic of real-time interaction but made it scalable, engaging, and sticky. And so, I set out to build Chatter Social. But I wasn’t a tech founder. I didn’t have a background in software development or a network of Silicon Valley insiders. What I did have was determination and the belief that if I could bring the right people together, we could build something extraordinary. Building the Team The journey to build Chatter started with assembling a team. Through my network from my days on Clubhouse, I found Samir, my first CTO. He believed in the vision and was instrumental in getting the project off the ground. Shortly after, I connected with Tyler, our Head of Design, whose creativity brought life to our ideas. A developer joined us soon after, and we were off to the races. By the end of 2023, Samir had to step away due to other commitments, and we promoted the developer to CTO. At the same time, I brought on Banko, a Sony music executive, as our CMO. Banko’s connections led to one of our biggest early wins: landing Davido, a global superstar, as an owner-ambassador. To this day, I still marvel at the fact that Davido believed in our vision when all we had were Tyler’s Figma designs. From Dream to Reality Early 2024 was a whirlwind. We hired Yurii and Vasyl, two developers from Ukraine who brought incredible skill and dedication to the team. Vasyl, in particular, stood out as a leader and has since earned an equity position in the company. But despite these wins, we were facing growing pains. Our new CTO struggled to meet deadlines, and as a result, I found myself constantly pushing back the launch date. What started as a January release turned into February, then March, then April, then May. By then, people on Twitter Spaces—where I had been hyping up the platform—started doubting if we even had a product. Launch and Lessons June 1, 2024, marked a turning point. It was the day my son Noah was born and the day we launched Chatter in private beta. We started with just 40 users, but by the end of the month, we had grown to 1,000. The engagement was unbelievable. Users loved it, even though we had launched with just one feature: live rooms. This represented less than 20% of what we had planned, but it was enough to show that we were onto something big. In July, we launched our public beta on the App Store as an invite-only platform. Within 48 hours, Chatter ranked as a top 30 social app in over 30 countries. But our invite system throttled access, and most users couldn’t get in. While engagement metrics soared for those inside, our AWS costs exploded. In August, our AWS bill hit $10,000. By September, it had climbed to $15,000, and we were drowning in bugs and glitches. The breaking point came when our CTO became unresponsive, often disappearing during critical moments. Users were dropping off, frustrated by the issues, developers were confused and the team was also growing increasingly frustrated, I made the tough decision to let him go. A New Beginning Enter Horane, a long-time user of Chatter who had been with us since private beta. He was the first to discover some of the most innovative use cases for the platform and had a deep passion for its potential. After meeting him in person at a Chatter event, I knew he was the right person to step into the CTO role. When Horane took over, we discovered just how bad the situation was. Key areas of the codebase were locked, and there were no separate environments for development and production. Every fix seemed to break something else. But through sheer determination and countless 18-hour days, Horane stabilized the platform. Today, Chatter is far from perfect, but it’s stable. The bugs that plagued us have been reduced to moderate issues, and our core users—those who stuck with us through the chaos—are still engaged on the platform. Looking Ahead: Chatter V2 While the platform is stable now, we’ve shifted our focus to Chatter V2. This is where the magic really begins. V2 isn’t just an improvement; it’s a complete reimagining of the platform. It includes all the features we couldn’t release in V1 because we were too busy putting out fires. Imagine this: Chatter V1, with only one live feature, was incredibly sticky. Now think about what happens when we release a fully loaded platform with all the innovative features we’ve been working on behind the scenes. The possibilities are endless. V2 is slated to hit TestFlight by the end of December, with a public release in January 2025. And this time, we’re ready—not just with the product but with the lessons we’ve learned. The Hard Lessons This journey has taught me more than I ever thought possible: 1) Your Team is Everything: The right people can make or break your vision. Finding people who believe in your mission is just as important as finding people with the right skills. 2) Adaptability is Key: As a non-technical founder, I had to learn about development, DevOps, and product management on the fly. Challenges will push you to grow, whether you’re ready or not. 3) Trust the Process: Every setback, every delay, every bug—it all taught us something. Without those lessons, we wouldn’t be building the incredible V2 product we are today. 4) Resilience is Non-Negotiable: From technical disasters to predatory investors who tried to exploit my desperation, I’ve had to fight for this vision every step of the way. What’s Next December is shaping up to be an exciting month. We have some amazing events planned on the platform to close out the year, bringing our core community together as we prepare for the V2 launch. When V2 drops, it will mark a new era for Chatter. This isn’t just a social audio platform or a social audiovisual platform. Chatter is all about interactive experiences—making social media social again in ways that are truly unique. The public launch is slated for February 2025, and for the first time, we’ll have the marketing dollars to tell the world about Chatter. Our core community has been our biggest cheerleaders, and I can’t wait to see how the world reacts when they experience what we’ve built. Final Thoughts This has been the hardest year of my life, but also the most rewarding. To other founders, or anyone thinking about starting a company: know this—it will test you in ways you can’t imagine. You’ll face betrayal, doubt, and moments where you feel like giving up. It was the day my son Noah was born and the day we launched Chatter in private beta. We started with just 40 users, but by the end of the month, we had grown to 1,000. The engagement was unbelievable. Users loved it, even though we had launched with just one feature: live rooms. This represented less than 20% of what we had planned, but it was enough to show that we were onto something big. In July, we launched our public beta on the App Store as an invite-only platform. Within 48 hours, Chatter ranked as a top 30 social app in over 30 countries. But our invite system throttled access, and most users couldn’t get in. While engagement metrics soared for those inside, our AWS costs exploded. In August, our AWS bill hit $10,000. By September, it had climbed to $15,000, and we were drowning in bugs and glitches. The breaking point came when our CTO became unresponsive, often disappearing during critical moments. Users were dropping off, frustrated by the issues, developers were confused and the team was also growing increasingly frustrated, I made the tough decision to let him go. A New Beginning Enter Horane, a long-time user of Chatter who had been with us since private beta. He was the first to discover some of the most innovative use cases for the platform and had a deep passion for its potential. After meeting him in person at a Chatter event, I knew he was the right person to step into the CTO role. When Horane took over, we discovered just how bad the situation was. Key areas of the codebase were locked, and there were no separate environments for development and production. Every fix seemed to break something else. But through sheer determination and countless 18-hour days, Horane stabilized the platform. Today, Chatter is far from perfect, but it’s stable. The bugs that plagued us have been reduced to moderate issues, and our core users—those who stuck with us through the chaos—are still engaged on the platform. Looking Ahead: Chatter V2 While the platform is stable now, we’ve shifted our focus to Chatter V2. This is where the magic really begins. V2 isn’t just an improvement; it’s a complete reimagining of the platform. It includes all the features we couldn’t release in V1 because we were too busy putting out fires. Imagine this: Chatter V1, with only one live feature, was incredibly sticky. Now think about what happens when we release a fully loaded platform with all the innovative features we’ve been working on behind the scenes. The possibilities are endless. V2 is slated to hit TestFlight by the end of December, with a public release in January 2025. And this time, we’re ready—not just with the product but with the lessons we’ve learned. The Hard Lessons This journey has taught me more than I ever thought possible: 1) Your Team is Everything: The right people can make or break your vision. Finding people who believe in your mission is just as important as finding people with the right skills. 2) Adaptability is Key: As a non-technical founder, I had to learn about development, DevOps, and product management on the fly. Challenges will push you to grow, whether you’re ready or not. 3) Trust the Process: Every setback, every delay, every bug—it all taught us something. Without those lessons, we wouldn’t be building the incredible V2 product we are today. 4) Resilience is Non-Negotiable: From technical disasters to predatory investors who tried to exploit my desperation, I’ve had to fight for this vision every step of the way. What’s Next December is shaping up to be an exciting month. We have some amazing events planned on the platform to close out the year, bringing our core community together as we prepare for the V2 launch. When V2 drops, it will mark a new era for Chatter. This isn’t just a social audio platform or a social audiovisual platform. Chatter is all about interactive experiences—making social media social again in ways that are truly unique. The public launch is slated for February 2025, and for the first time, we’ll have the marketing dollars to tell the world about Chatter. Our core community has been our biggest cheerleaders, and I can’t wait to see how the world reacts when they experience what we’ve built. Final Thoughts This has been the hardest year of my life, but also the most rewarding. To other founders, or anyone thinking about starting a company: know this—it will test you in ways you can’t imagine. You’ll face betrayal, doubt, and moments where you feel like giving up. i think it’s also worth mentioning, since everybody keeps asking “Why join the show NOW, Shamea?” & acting like she had a secret agenda by S16, #RHOA was no longer a marriage-focused show. most of the women were single or divorced, couples trips were gone, the literal plot & direction of the show had changed, making it the perfect time for Shamea & Gerald bc their marriage was no longer the focus. plus Porsha had changed her mind abt Shamea joining, but that’s when she thought it was gonna be all abt HER, not expecting what would happen next… Bravo was preparing this HUGE comeback for Porsha Stewart-Williams-McKinley-Guobadia, then the Simon marriage imploded, her storyline tanked & suddenly Shamea was positioned as CENTER peach, a huge BLOW to Porsha’s ego, like damn, i lost my man AND my status on RHOA? which made Porsha feel overshadowed & highlighted her ORIGINAL reservations for not wanting Shamea on the show to begin with but by then, the girl had already officially signed on. So the off camera tension & resentment btw the two grew to where it translated ON CAMERA bc Porsha was passive aggressively taking it out on Shamea by distancing herself & talking shit abt her, regretting ever vouching for Shamea cus she only wanted her there if it meant Shamea was beneath her. So ppl keep tryna make it like Shamea always planned to come on & expose Porsha, baby no…. What Shamea thought was gonna be her first Peach holding season w/ her bestie, aint how it panned out. they werent rly filming solo scenes together bc Porsha doesnt do good with REAL, VULNERABLE confrontations so she avoided it just like she used Drew to deflect from the Simon divorce. Shamea OVER compensated for the distance by tryna prove her loyalty to Porsha by taking on ALL her beefs & Shamea grew tired of faking it for TV & Social media, like their friendship wasnt falling apart IRL. but thats just it. Porsha wasnt willing to talk abt ANY real life issues on camera like Simon n Shamea unless she got an extra check for it. Which is why Shamea ran her mouth n vented to the other cast mates in the first place & THEY brought it onto camera as getback at Shamea being a lapdog. So NO, there was never no “Takedown Porsha Plot”, it was Porsha switching up when her life threw curve balls, Shamea having to pay for it, while still tryna please her & plead for their declining friendship, which ultimately lead to her doing a full audit of everything, completely reassessing their entire friendship, & THAT is why old issues started coming up.

I want to put this in advance, I am still here because I still have hope, but I cannot serve our future if I don't talk about this topic below, which is mainly addressed to our leaders. Most of you are well aware of the issues. Don't listen to us, listen to independent reviewers who are not biased left or right. Perfect snippet from an Overall positive video below! But if you decide that you might be interested from an OLD community member who has been with your for years and spent hundreds - but more like Thousands of hours to contribute to your success please read my take below: 👇 0. The Loudest Issue: CRO Performance & Cronos Activity The most vocal concern among investors is the poor performance of the CRO token, released by Crypto.com. However, an even bigger problem is the declining activity on —again, a creation of Cryptocom. 1. A Confusing and Inconsistent Relationship with Cronos For years, we felt abandoned, and while we understood that this might have been necessary due to regulatory concerns, it was a breath of fresh air when Cronos was mentioned in Cryptocom’s roadmap. Only for it to be removed again. Then we saw Kris listed as the head of Cronos on official Korean documents—only for it to change again within days. CRO gets advertised, then removed. Many people got involved with $CRO and Cronos specifically only because it was tied to and closely linked to Cryptocom and the fact that the relationship has only blurred and become more ambiguous over time is also not really fair to users/investors either. In fact, it's almost misleading. The relationship between Cryptocom and Cronos is so inconsistent and convoluted that it could be the plot of a Brazilian soap opera. Investors deserve better clarity and stability. 2. The Ambassador Program – What’s the Point? I know for most this is not important, but for me as an ambassador still somewhere on the top. What is the actual purpose of the Cryptocom and Cronos ambassador programs? Communication is non-existent, engagement is minimal, and we have no real role in the chain’s development. Instead, we serve as punching bags for community frustrations because no official team members are available for direct questions. If the ambassador program disappeared tomorrow, nothing would change. That says a lot. I don't even know if half of the ambassadors we have still on the chain or active at all. We could cut the current ambassadors list by 90% and they probably won't even notice. As a salt on the wound again, the gossips that ambassadors who the community never even heard of getting reimbursed while those who here and working full time for free just to keep your chain alive is outrageous. I only know one Turkish ambassador who works hard for the chain and community and that is Kaan, the rest is basically unknown and only seen complaints about them, not just wasting company money but in return swearing and complaining about Kris. How is that a good investment? I don't care how close some of them to certain top level officials, it needs a review even if its a small portion of the problems.. Start rewarding people who serve the overall success. 3. Where is the CEO? Leadership means stepping up, especially in difficult times. Yet, Kris has never taken open, unscripted questions from the community. Even the scripted AMA sessions with Steve were appreciated, but now those are gone too. Hiding during tough times and reappearing only when the market is bullish is not the leadership investors deserve. If you don’t want us when things are bad, don’t celebrate with us when things are good. *Moving head sideways and shaking finger 4. Cronos Labs & Grant Allocations I have no issue with Cryptocom building under the guise of Cronos Labs and receiving grants originally meant for external developers. But while it’s true that many builders abused the grant system and left, that is the fault of those who approved those grants—not the current builders still here. It takes an hour of research to see who’s been building for years. If you genuinely care about Cronos, start engaging with the community. Cronos Token Listings & Double Standards I understand that not all Cronos-based tokens can be listed, or even any at all. However, the claim that Cryptocom is protecting retail investors by avoiding Cronos token listings is simply false. Look at the last 100 token listings—many have crashed or were outright rug. Examples? Gekko HQ is down over 99%, and $HEHE is completely abandoned. Where is the protection in that? Meanwhile, Cryptocom lists its own Cronos Labs projects despite them having little to no volume, just to keep them afloat. If you don’t want to list Cronos tokens, just be honest—admit that you prefer listing projects from other chains because they might attract new users. Don’t act like you’re protecting anyone. 6. The Marketing Budget vs. Reality Cryptocom spends an insane amount on marketing. While I don’t mind the ambition, we need to be realistic. Celebrity endorsements and massive sponsorship deals are questionable at best. Did spending 10 million CRO on a golfer bring in new users? Did getting Eminem to shill investments work? The recent U.S. elections showed that celebrities hold far less influence than people think. This is a new generation, a new market, and you cannot market a crypto company like Marlboro did Formula 1 in the ‘70s plastering your logo all over the tracks. 7. Respect for Developers & Employees To be clear: I have immense respect for the developers and employees at Cryptocom and Cronos. The devs are not only incredibly skilled but also hardworking and kind. I have great relationships with several, and I know many would love to be closer to the community. The problem isn’t them, and I urge the community not to direct frustration at them or the community managers. The real issues come from the top. 8. If You’re Still Reading, You Care—Unlike Leadership If you made it this far, you care about Cryptocom and Cronos. Unfortunately, I’d bet my Al Capone LEGO set that no one from upper management will read this far. Instead, they’ll dismiss it as just another clueless community member who failed to diversify their portfolio and is now whining about $CRO instead of just buying Bitcoin. Solutions: 1. Honest and Transparent Communication - Tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what your realistic expectations are. No more smoke and mirrors. 2. Active Participation in the Cronos and Cryptocom Ecosystem - Stop relying on secondhand messages. We’re tired of hearing “We’ll forward your suggestion to the team” with no follow-up. That’s not engagement and we heard that a thousand times already. 3. Genuine Support for Cronos Builders - Instead of blindly funding in-house projects, support real builders who have been active for years. Not every project needs massive funding—simple recognition and low-cost support or even free advertisement can go a long way. 4. Better Token Listing Policies - If Cronos tokens aren’t worth listing, be transparent. But if you’re listing failed and abandoned projects from other chains, you owe us an explanation. 5. Accountability from Leadership - We don’t expect miracles, but we do expect our CEO to engage with the community, take tough questions, and stand by us during difficult times. 6. Realistic Marketing Strategies - Stop throwing money at celebrity endorsements and ineffective ad campaigns. Focus on organic growth, community engagement, and real use cases. 7. Regular AMAs and Open Discussions - Leadership should hold at least quarterly AMAs with the community, answering real, unscripted questions. 8. More Accessible Community Engagement - Create a direct communication channel between developers, leadership, and the community, where actual feedback can be given and received. 9. Revamping the Ambassador Program - Give ambassadors a real purpose, better communication tools, and a direct line to Cryptocom to discuss community concerns.

A Confusing and Inconsistent Relationship with Cronos For years, we felt abandoned, and while we understood that this might have been necessary due to regulatory concerns, it was a breath of fresh air when Cronos was mentioned in Cryptocom’s roadmap. Only for it to be removed again. Then we saw Kris listed as the head of Cronos on official Korean documents—only for it to change again within days. CRO gets advertised, then removed. Many people got involved with $CRO and Cronos specifically only because it was tied to and closely linked to Cryptocom and the fact that the relationship has only blurred and become more ambiguous over time is also not really fair to users/investors either. In fact, it's almost misleading. The relationship between Cryptocom and Cronos is so inconsistent and convoluted that it could be the plot of a Brazilian soap opera. Investors deserve better clarity and stability. 2. The Ambassador Program – What’s the Point? I know for most this is not important, but for me as an ambassador still somewhere on the top. What is the actual purpose of the Cryptocom and Cronos ambassador programs? Communication is non-existent, engagement is minimal, and we have no real role in the chain’s development. Instead, we serve as punching bags for community frustrations because no official team members are available for direct questions. If the ambassador program disappeared tomorrow, nothing would change. That says a lot. I don't even know if half of the ambassadors we have still on the chain or active at all. We could cut the current ambassadors list by 90% and they probably won't even notice. As a salt on the wound again, the gossips that ambassadors who the community never even heard of getting reimbursed while those who here and working full time for free just to keep your chain alive is outrageous. I only know one Turkish ambassador who works hard for the chain and community and that is Kaan, the rest is basically unknown and only seen complaints about them, not just wasting company money but in return swearing and complaining about Kris. How is that a good investment? I don't care how close some of them to certain top level officials, it needs a review even if its a small portion of the problems.. Start rewarding people who serve the overall success. 3. Where is the CEO? Leadership means stepping up, especially in difficult times. Yet, Kris has never taken open, unscripted questions from the community. Even the scripted AMA sessions with Steve were appreciated, but now those are gone too. Hiding during tough times and reappearing only when the market is bullish is not the leadership investors deserve. Cronos Labs & Grant Allocations I have no issue with Cryptocom building under the guise of Cronos Labs and receiving grants originally meant for external developers. But while it’s true that many builders abused the grant system and left, that is the fault of those who approved those grants—not the current builders still here. It takes an hour of research to see who’s been building for years. If you genuinely care about Cronos, start engaging with the community. Cronos Token Listings & Double Standards I understand that not all Cronos-based tokens can be listed, or even any at all. However, the claim that Cryptocom is protecting retail investors by avoiding Cronos token listings is simply false. Look at the last 100 token listings—many have crashed or were outright rug. Examples? Gekko HQ is down over 99%, and $HEHE is completely abandoned. Where is the protection in that? Meanwhile, Cryptocom lists its own Cronos Labs projects despite them having little to no volume, just to keep them afloat. If you don’t want to list Cronos tokens, just be honest—admit that you prefer listing projects from other chains because they might attract new users. Don’t act like you’re protecting anyone. 6. The Marketing Budget vs. Reality Cryptocom spends an insane amount on marketing. While I don’t mind the ambition, we need to be realistic. Celebrity endorsements and massive sponsorship deals are questionable at best. Did spending 10 million CRO on a golfer bring in new users? Did getting Eminem to shill investments work? The recent U.S. elections showed that celebrities hold far less influence than people think. This is a new generation, a new market, and you cannot market a crypto company like Marlboro did Formula 1 in the ‘70s plastering your logo all over the tracks. 7. Respect for Developers & Employees To be clear: I have immense respect for the developers and employees at Cryptocom and Cronos. The devs are not only incredibly skilled but also hardworking and kind. I have great relationships with several, and I know many would love to be closer to the community. The problem isn’t them, and I urge the community not to direct frustration at them or the community managers. The real issues come from the top. 8. If You’re Still Reading, You Care—Unlike Leadership If you made it this far, you care about Cryptocom and Cronos. Unfortunately, I’d bet my Al Capone LEGO set that no one from upper management will read this far. Instead, they’ll dismiss it as just another clueless community member who failed to diversify their portfolio and is now whining about $CRO instead of just buying Bitcoin. Solutions: 1. Honest and Transparent Communication - Tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what your realistic expectations are. No more smoke and mirrors. 2. Active Participation in the Cronos and Cryptocom Ecosystem - Stop relying on secondhand messages. We’re tired of hearing “We’ll forward your suggestion to the team” with no follow-up. That’s not engagement and we heard that a thousand times already. 3. Genuine Support for Cronos Builders - Instead of blindly funding in-house projects, support real builders who have been active for years. Not every project needs massive funding—simple recognition and low-cost support or even free advertisement can go a long way. 4. Better Token Listing Policies - If Cronos tokens aren’t worth listing, be transparent. But if you’re listing failed and abandoned projects from other chains, you owe us an explanation. 5. Accountability from Leadership - We don’t expect miracles, but we do expect our CEO to engage with the community, take tough questions, and stand by us during difficult times. 6. Realistic Marketing Strategies - Stop throwing money at celebrity endorsements and ineffective ad campaigns. Focus on organic growth, community engagement, and real use cases. 7. Regular AMAs and Open Discussions - Leadership should hold at least quarterly AMAs with the community, answering real, unscripted questions. 8. More Accessible Community Engagement - Create a direct communication channel between developers, leadership, and the community, where actual feedback can be given and received. 9. Revamping the Ambassador Program - Give ambassadors a real purpose, better communication tools, and a direct line to Cryptocom to discuss community concerns.

The same limiting beliefs apply to making money. If you say you can't charge X $ unless you do Y requirement that you will never charge that unless you hit that requirement. Often, for founders, it's something along the lines of "I can't raise my prices until I launch XYZ feature, or I can't charge x $ because no one else in my market is charging that, so I can't charge that. Or I can't push out my product because it's less developed than other products in the market so until I match my competitors I can't start making money. It's all complete bullshit. None of it is real and the market will ultimately tell you what's real. You only know if a limiting belief is a real limitation once you have tested it several times. But the easiest way to know if something is a real limitation is to see if other people have been where you are at and transcended it. Are there fat/ugly/broke guys who date beautiful women? All the damn time. Are there rich, successful business owners who provide a shitty product than you and charge more? Yup, all the damn time. Or are there people who have started companies with no money in their bank account, no experience, yet have full self-belief and find a way to deliver value and crush it with their clients? All the time. You have to believing in yourself before anyone else will. And if you constantly place limitations on yourself so will other people. In fact, often it's the people who place limiting beliefs on themselves that stand to benefit the most by removing the limitation. They tend to be good people overall; they just fall for false programming told to them by people who don't know any better or actively don't have their best interests in mind. This is the mind of the perfectionist who always tries to be perfect before actually putting themselves out there and taking a shot. This is the chronic procrastinator who keeps putting off starting that business, talking to that girl, starting that new hobby, waiting for the stars align before they take a shot etc. This is the person who constantly keeps moving the goal posts so they never actually put themselves out there and allow the world to see them. It's all bullshit. None of it is real. None of your limitations exist until you say they exist. If you have the power to limit your reality you have the power to remove the limiter. This is what I do with all my clients. I just removed the limitations they place on themselves, so all of a sudden, they're able to actually capitalize on their potential and become the people they are meant to be and provide the value they can deep down. All I want for you is to see reality for what it is and actually be realistic. You aren't being realistic anytime you place a limitation on yourself.
