My grandma was from the depression- there is no way she would have wasted that flour, in fact she probably would have strained the bits out of the fat and poured the strained fat into a jar haha! Not sure but she had a way with “nothing gets wasted” way of life.

That's a level of stupid I haven't seen in a long time. Use one of these and scrape the grease into the garbage, it'll take 1/20th of the time and won't waste huge amounts of flour.
