Mist： The initial storyboards for this fan-made video were drawn by me, and I had been thinking about how to present it ever since the first season of the anime ended. The BD novel also gave me a lot of inspiration afterward. Before formally starting this project, I kept asking myself over and over: "Is my interpretation good enough?" "Will our understanding conflict with the original novel?" What changed my mind and gave me encouragement was precisely what Dumas said in the FGO×FSF collab—if your creation can bring people true joy and emotion, then even if it is "Fake," it still has value in existing. So, in a sense, wouldn't fan-made derivative works based on Narita-sensei's "Fake" original all count as "Fake of Fake"? In this year of 2026, I witnessed with my own eyes the novel I had followed for ten years finally receive an anime adaptation. I also came to know a warm and passionate community of fellow fans who speak different languages. And it is precisely because of this that I was able to meet torimomo-sensei and other friends. Sometimes I wonder—are these the friendships that could only bloom and bear fruit after ten years of waiting? And in the novel, Richard and Ayaka have likewise been by each other's side for ten years, and are now about to welcome the final chapter of their story. In my eyes, the two of them were once lonely children of the stars, but after a long passage of time, those two stars welcomed their Fate in Snowfield. No matter how many times I revisit their first meeting, it stirs in me much the same emotion. Allright! At that moment, I thought: "I've finally found the courage to take this first step into creating derivative works for Fake. Come on—now that my skills have matured enough, let me pour my heart and talent into them!" This is a fan work created together by torimomo-sensei and me, dedicated to Fate/strange Fake and to our beloved Richaya. Although it is likewise only "Fake," if this fan video can bring "True" emotions to friends who love Richaya—then, for me, that would be an incomparable honor. Torimomo: From first receiving the storyboards and drawing a few pages on and off, to finally mustering all my energy and drawing in earnest from the beginning of July—during this past month and a half, almost all of my thoughts, energy, and passion were poured into the illustrations for this PV. It was only partway through drawing that I realized, "Wait, it seems Mist's storyboards weren't meant to be fully colored after all..." (laughs). But since I had already come this far, and both the art style and rhythm had already become second nature, I decided to see it through to the end according to my own interpretation. I also changed quite a few of the storyboards along the way, and I am truly grateful to Mist for being so accepting of these modifications and creative liberties. To me, Richaya is a beam of light. I love the relationship between them, bound by the pull of fate; I love how they encourage and support each other; and I also love the perfect amount of negative space in Fate/strange Fake. It is precisely because of that negative space that different people can give rise to different imaginations and expectations—and that, in itself, is the greatest joy of derivative creation. I have so many imaginings of Richaya born from the wish that "they can be happy." Ever since I met Richaya this year, I have been drawing without pause. I don't hold back from pouring every image and story I can think of that suits them into my art. And it was precisely because of this that I was able to form a connection with Mist—through exchange after exchange of inspiration, each of us went on to create even more wonderful works about Richaya. This animated PV is one of them. For me, simply being able to see it through to the end was already more than enough to make me happy. And after Mist-sensei's post-production polish and editing, it ultimately came together as such a complete video. I'm truly satisfied. It is completely deliberate to paint pre-1950 Tibet as some pure spiritual paradise that China destroyed. The story of June Khamba shows how fake that picture is. Thank you to my long time friend brokenglasscountry for explaining: In 1917 a British woman obsessed with Tibetan Buddhism went all the way to Dharamsala chasing her visions. She ended up as English translator for one of the highest-ranking monks. What started as translation and teaching quickly turned into something else... She was told she had to practice Tantra — sexual intercourse with her male teacher as the path to enlightenment. This wasn’t some voluntary spiritual experiment. It became an exploitative relationship. (Something that happens often in spiritual circles in Vancouver) She later wrote about it as straight-up sexual abuse. And she wasn’t alone. Plenty of other Western women who got involved with Tibetan Buddhist circles around the world told the same story once they spoke out. (I once helped a woman release some trauma after she was conned by a fake guru in Jeju, Korea) That alone should make people stop and think. Supporters of “Free Tibet” keep saying China crushed religious freedom. The real story is simpler and uglier: the old system in Tibet wasn’t mainly about religion. It was about power and control. Tibetan Buddhism isn’t just Buddhism with a different hat. A lot of traditional Buddhists look at it and call parts of it blasphemy. The whole idea of living Buddhas — the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama as eternal enlightened beings walking around in human form — clashes with core Buddhist teaching that even Buddhas are still lesser than ultimate reality, and humans are lesser than Buddhas. Then there’s the ritual use of human body parts — skulls, skins, bones — turned into religious objects. That has way more in common with old political power games than with any spiritual path that tells you to drop attachment to material things. And the biggest one: reincarnation. The system of recognizing the next Dalai Lama was never just a religious process. It was a political machine. It kept the priestly class in charge by making sure no secular challenge could ever stick. The “divine” selection process conveniently protected their authority. Ahh brothaa! he can see the special karma, but you can't. He will decide your fate brothaa! This is exactly why the Dalai Lama gets loud when China says it has a say in approving the next reincarnation. He forgets — or hopes everyone else forgets — how China got that authority in the first place. It goes back to the 18th century. Two senior lamas were fighting over power. One side invited the Gorkhas from Nepal to invade and loot the monasteries as payment. The chaos got so bad that the Qianlong Emperor stepped in. He put an end to lamas picking their own successors and moved the final authority to Beijing through the Golden Urn system. His reasoning was straightforward: the Buddha has no physical body. How the hell can there be a reincarnation in the first place? It was political theater dressed up as religion, and the emperor called it out. So when people today scream that China is attacking Tibetan “religious freedom,” they’re ignoring what that “freedom” actually looked like. It was a closed system of power that used spiritual claims to keep control. China didn’t invent the politics — it just ended the worst of it and brought the region under central authority like every other part of the country. The West loves its romantic image of old Tibet because it fits the narrative they want: China bad, Tibet pure victims, Westerners as the saviors who understand true spirituality better than the Chinese ever could. Like a personalized license plate, how long can “LV2FART” be funny? 11. THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN: Something that totally defies all logic but is on and off the screen so fast that we get away with it. Robert Stack in 'Airplane!' yells, “They’re on instruments!” Cut to the cockpit—the actors are playing musical instruments. Seconds later, the saxophone and clarinets have disappeared. So the fact that the fuel lines lines are not working quite right isn't your problem. That's part of the normal engineering process. Your problem is that your manager hates you and everything you stand for, and doesn't trust you or take your word for anything. He think his job is to keep you in line rather than help or empower you. So when you say "the fuel feed lines need to be redesigned", he says "we already spent six months and seventeen million dollars design the fuel feed system, we can't let you do it again." He thinks you are telling him seventeen million dollars worth of work needs to be thrown away and redone, and he cannot be told otherwise, because he cannot be told anything. So he says "you have two weeks and fifty thousand dollars to fix it". So you add another turbopump. What else can you do in two weeks? Now there's a new part. And if something goes wrong with that, another new part will be added to fix it. Because the company's actual priority isn't what you are responsible for — the design. It's what middle management is responsible for — the schedule and the budget. You have to play the villain so they can play the hero. What middle management doesn't understand, is paid to not understand, is what engineering actually is. Engineering is the process of making mistakes until you run out of mistakes to make. So when you spend six months and seventeen million dollars, and ended up with a design that doesn't quite work right in all cases, you weren't throwing away money, you were burning through mistakes. You've gotten a lot of them out of the way and won't make them again. But you have to get rid of some more before the design is actually right and doesn't require extra parts. The work of engineering isn't making the thing. It's teaching yourself to make the thing. Once you've done that, you can make the thing with minimal effort and time, because you know how to make the thing. C-suite financiers would hate this idea if they understood it. Why? Because it's unpredictable. Financiers like safe investments that make money. Not knowing how long something will take or how much it will cost is terrifying to them. So they train engineers to lie to them, by hiring a middle managers who try to force them to lie, and just interpret every guess as a promise if engineers still refuse to do so. But lying to yourself doesn't make the truth go away. The truth is that engineering projects take as long as they take, and cost as much as they cost. Gantt charts are nothing but a collection of lies that corporations have taught themselves to tell themselves, lies that middle managers try to make true by enforcing them as promises. The ultimate reason that machines are 30% unnecessary parts is that the corporations that build them are 30% unnecessary people. This is what's different about Elon Musk. It's not that he's a better engineer. It's that he's a better manager. He understands engineers and engineering, and he doesn't hate them because he is one. He understood all along that green-field design is full of unknown-unknowns, and that there is absolutely no number-crunching, pie-chart, MBA magic that can eliminate this risk... it can only be hidden from view. Well, when you say to yourself, "This project has a 10% chance of succeeding", you've already confronted the pain of those admissions, which means you have already conquered the fear. The fear that makes you try to treat a prediction as a promise. The fear that makes you insert an extra turbopump, when what you really need to do is get busy redesigning the pipes, even though you have no idea how long it will take or much it will cost. Even when your rockets blow up. The SpaceX Raptor engine isn't just, or even primarily, a triumph of engineering smarts. It's a triumph of character. It's about an entire team with virtues MBAs lack: self-awareness, persistence, courage, humility, and, ultimately, hope. Because that's what it takes to pursue the best design, the RIGHT design, not even knowing if it exists to be found, much less whether you'll find it before you run out of money. Great things are not accomplished by middle managers with spreadsheets and Gantt charts. They are accomplished by teams of experts with passion and vision. Short note on my normative position on Iran, no shitposting or sarcasm, in response to braindead accusations of Zionism, Pro-Americansim, engagement-farming, coping etc. Nobody cares but still. I like Persian civilization. I like civilizations in general. I consider civilizations to be roughly as valuable as the sum of individual humans that comprise them. I think civilizations are beautiful things in the history of biology and physics, half superorganisms and half deliberate research programs steered by great men, dedicated to finding viable domains in the value-space, idea-space, in the space of reproductive strategies for humans and ideas, in economic organization, and in many other high-dimensional spaces. A proper civilization is the most complex thing in the Universe and unlike humans, it does not naturally grow old and die, thus holds unlimited potential for path-dependent discovery of new fascinating forms that other civilizations might take infinity to reach or appreciate. This isn't an attempt to sound like a smartass, just how I think. In contrast, political structures like nation states and regimes that give civilizations concrete form are transient and only instrumentally valuable. Speaking of politics, it so happens that Persian civilization has had bad luck. Without delving into Deep History or the history of Zoroastrian Indian Parsis (sadly going extinct as we speak) who demonstrate what Persians writ large could have been – currently they're under the rule of a hidebound, ineffectual and plain retarded Shia Islamic theocracy that is (inconsistently but annoyingly) committed to performative traditionalism and antagonizing Israel and the United States, two of the greatest and highest-agency powers on the planet. It's also an arrogant and disloyal partner to the only non-irrelevant actors willing to entertain their nonsense, namely Russia, China and India. This clearly hasn't been working out well for them. It's also a bad fit for their people. Persians at their best are intellectuals and sensitive aesthetes, not some austere Mujahideen martyr material. They've been the intellectual backbone of the Muslim world for centuries, and have merits beyond that world. They shouldn't live like this. I sympathize with them not least because it's similar to the Russian condition – they have the dressings of democracy (arguably more genuine than in Russia which is a basic two-bit dictatorship at this point), they have the techical chops to compete in creation on the world stage, they even have a refined aesthetic sense… and it's all squandered by obscene, out-of-touch vatniks in towels. This is unbearable. Meanwhile, the Jewish civilization (yes, they qualify for that term) has had better luck, their paradigm of game-theoretical minmaxing for ethnic survival and Lebensraum acquisition is very clear-headed and effective. Now they have both a powerful, WMD-armed nation state in the form of Israel and excellent international arrangements in the form of American Zionism; they have cowed Europeans, Arabs and pretty much everyone else. They can reduce Iran to a failed state and Persian civilization to a condition of collapse, civil war (Iran isn't just Persian, mind you) and gradual dissolution. Which is what I expect to happen. Clearly a functioning, cohesive, non-occupied Iran is bound to become a major regional player with appropriate ambitions of strategic deterrence, far beyond the likes of Saudi Arabia or UAE. I'm sorry, the human capital quality is just incomparable, Arabs are barely achieving with trillions of dollars and buying people like Schmidhuber what Iranians are doing under crippling sanctions, Djinn-brained Mullahs and Mossad sabotage. Maybe not nukes, but ballistic missiles? Of course, and Israel demands no ballistic missiles, because even without nukes you can do much mischief if you have a technologically sophisticated state, covert WMD program and means of rapid delivery. So that will be achieved, and the natural way to achieve it is to turn Iran into a big Lebanon or Libya. Short note on my normative position on Iran, no shitposting or sarcasm, in response to braindead accusations of Zionism, Pro-Americansim, engagement-farming, coping etc. Nobody cares but still. I like Persian civilization. I like civilizations in general. I consider civilizations to be roughly as valuable as the sum of individual humans that comprise them. I think civilizations are beautiful things in the history of biology and physics, half superorganisms and half deliberate research programs steered by great men, dedicated to finding viable domains in the value-space, idea-space, in the space of reproductive strategies for humans and ideas, in economic organization, and in many other high-dimensional spaces. A proper civilization is the most complex thing in the Universe and unlike humans, it does not naturally grow old and die, thus holds unlimited potential for path-dependent discovery of new fascinating forms that other civilizations might take infinity to reach or appreciate. This isn't an attempt to sound like a smartass, just how I think. In contrast, political structures like nation states and regimes that give civilizations concrete form are transient and only instrumentally valuable. Speaking of politics, it so happens that Persian civilization has had bad luck. Without delving into Deep History or the history of Zoroastrian Indian Parsis (sadly going extinct as we speak) who demonstrate what Persians writ large could have been – currently they're under the rule of a hidebound, ineffectual and plain retarded Shia Islamic theocracy that is (inconsistently but annoyingly) committed to performative traditionalism and antagonizing Israel and the United States, two of the greatest and highest-agency powers on the planet. It's also an arrogant and disloyal partner to the only non-irrelevant actors willing to entertain their nonsense, namely Russia, China and India. This clearly hasn't been working out well for them. The corruption ridden DSC recruitment process is a multi layered scam and the following are the key aspects of it. 1. Chandrababu's government dismantled long-standing institutional safeguards. The entire conspiracy began with preparation of question papers (handled by SCERT) and the conduct of the examination (handled by the DSC Convenor). These responsibilities were traditionally separated to preserve confidentiality. This process was completely compromised when the separation of responsibilities was done away with. Chandrababu government sidelined the DSC Convenor and entrusted both crucial responsibilities to the Director of SCERT, thereby undermining the transparency of DSC examination and deliberately paving the way for irregularities. This arrangement created a convenient mechanism as the first step for the Mega Scam. 2. Making matters worse, the highly confidential tasks of question paper preparation and its upload were entrusted to outsourcing employees, creating a system vulnerable to abuse while conveniently providing potential scapegoats if design were to get exposed. The case of an outsourcing employee securing top rank in DSC in the very examination process he was associated with is a classic example of the consequences of the irregularity. This is direct proof of the paper leak scam. The sequence of events that follow generate further suspicion about the fragility of the system enabling paper leak and other irregularities. Why was that individual not provided the job despite him securing first rank? Why were the individual's ID and data removed from the merit list subsequently? Why wasn't he invited for the certificate verification? Are these not the reasons cited by that individual when he approached the Court? This resulted in candidates facing significant hardship owing uncertainty, with them running from pillar to post with nobody to redresses their grievances, not at the district collector level and not at head office level.The cruelest aspect of the entire DSC examination is that, several candidates who received call letters on 1:1 basis and whose certificates were successfully verified, did not find their name in final selection list. Strict adherence to Rule 20 of Scheme of Selection Rules 2025 necessitated preparation of merit-cum-roster list after taking into consideration, marks, ranks, cutoff and all forms of reservations in place, be it vertical or horizontal, be it under meritorious sportspersons quota, be it under persons with benchmark disabilities quota, and so forth. Under the rule position, successful verification of certificates after this step must only result in the candidate's name being placed in final selection list, however, such has not been the fate of several call letter recipients. For the first time in history, sports quota candidates were exempted from appearing for the DSC examination, creating a backdoor entry through which they were brought into the system. Once the recruitment process was complete, the policy was reverted to what it was earlier, through G.O. No. 23, G.O. No. 25 and G.O. No. 56, thereby superseding G.O. No. 4 and G.O. No. 47, citing difficulties that have arisen and several representations and grievances received from sportspersons.
