The only reason why you don’t see more fat dancers in music videos and theaters is because dance schools & the show biz industry are some of the most fatphobic spaces you’ll ever find in your life It has nothing to do with actual physical limitations fat people supposedly have

I don’t even blame Miss Twigs for just going along with it, it’s hard to cast diverse dancers when there’s not that many of them to begin with. But there COULD BE, and that’s the point.

Absolutely, when I was at my thinnest (in adulthood) I was also at my most sick. And weakest physically. Fatness and athleticism aren’t mutually exclusive at all. A human actually needs a lot of energy and nourishment to perform at that level, it makes sense.

The dance industry is so fatphobic the bigger people they do get skinny because of the ED comments 😭

Oh tell me about it, I was a small fat person when I started taking dance seriously and I didn’t get an ED per se but I did hurt my body in other ways while forcing weight loss.
