For a period of about three months in 2021, Fauci and others (including former CDC director and President Biden) lied about the ability of the vaccine to prevent infection and transmission of the virus. They did this to get people to take the vaccine. This is precisely why so many people were saying "don't be selfish, take the vaccine for the people you care about." Before and after this three month period, Fauci consistently said that the vaccine does not and would not prevent infection or transmission.
