At 2:12, they ran on 1st and 10 from our 26. If we tackle James White after a short gain, New England reaches the two minute warning with the ball and may close the half by outscoring us 7-0 or 3-0. Instead, White scored. We got the ball with 2:04. Ninety seconds later: the Philly Special.

Rockies down 2-0 in the bottom of the 9th with runners on 1B & 2B & they base hit bunt. The Red Sox are not surprised. They close with their 3B & 1B BUT their second baseman is way out of position to get to 1B before Cole Carrigg(A plus runner). In this situation the 2B can’t hold the runner on 2B & beat Carrigg to 1B. Looked like everything slowed down due to his lateness getting to 1st base. The SS has to hold the runner at 2B & the 2B has to cheat his positioning towards 1B so he beats Carrigg. It appears like they are hedging their positioning to protect the 6 hole in case Carrigg swings the bat. You can’t play everywhere. If you expect a bunt, you have to be in the best position to defend the bunt. The bunt was excellent. It was an early turn base hit bunt. Great direction & speed. The BHB choice put Carrigg in a better position to get out of the box fast(After seeing the ball down) & just beat the play to 1B. Of course you can argue that both teams did what they were supposed to do & the Rockies just out executed the Red Sox.

Notes on today's #Bengals practice, the most competitive and game-like conditions we've seen so far. - Great back-and-forth with big plays from both sides. Logged six drives for ones-vs-ones and two touchdowns. Burrow connects with Andrei Iosivas and Tee Higgins for scores. - The Higgins TD was a classic back-shoulder high-point in the corner against DJ Ivey. Unguardable stuff. Jay Morrison had a perfect angle on the video. - Tanner Hudson with the play of the day for the 2nd-team offense with a fourth-down TD against a double team from Flacco. - Blitz was working forcing stops with Demetrius Knight and Barrett Carter both coming up with nice plays. 📽️ Another day, another flash play for Colbie Young, although he also dropped a contested catch in the end zone. -Jonathan Allen with a sack. - No Bryan Cook, no Dax Hill, no Jalen Davis (in team) left the DBs a little shorthanded. - Honestly, just a high-level practice for both sides. Spent a long weekend with a group of folks in the mountains of Switzerland. All top people in their fields: a senior position in investment banking, CFO of a bank, serial acquirers, PE investors, etc. Some of the obvious observations: 1. Everyone’s busy, grinding, working hard to get things done, to take care of their family. 2. Almost all guys work long hours, be it Friday, Saturday, or Sunday; most folks had their phones on, getting some work done at any given time. 3. Everyone’s normal people - it really comes down to having abnormal goals, desires, and the willingness to do what is necessary to accomplish all that. When you hear folks in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s building and operating roll-up companies that are doing hundreds of millions in EBITDA, in niches you do not even know exist, it’s pretty special. Shows you the importance of focus and mastering your craft. All the 72 hours we spent together was great proof that more events like this need to happen. Going from online to offline, getting out from the day-to-day. Having various short and long interactions with people in different industries... Be it while on the lift coming up from the slope, during a coffee break, dinner, after dinner, 2-3 hour conversations, long walks, and overall brainstorming. Again, very special.

Here we go again… Young QBs: here’s my coaching point on sliding⬇️ I’d much rather Qbs “slide, dive, knife” head first rather than slide feet first and here’s why. 1) the ground NEVER loses… at any moment a defender can lunge, intentionally or not, and the only target he has to hi is your chest or head.. laying back to slide only aids in the momentum of your head going backwards and violently into the ground. Diving or knifing protects the back of your head from bouncing off the turf 2) YOU (the Qb) control the hit- when “knifing” down low to the ground you do so directionally away from the nearest imminent contact. I realize Tyler was trying to quickly give himself up, and yet the defender could’ve still caused injury.. JJ on the other hand controls where the hit comes from and is able to dive away from it and protect himself.

Here we go again… Young QBs: here’s my coaching point on sliding⬇️ I’d much rather Qbs “slide, dive, knife” head first rather than slide feet first and here’s why. 1) the ground NEVER loses… at any moment a defender can lunge, intentionally or not, and the only target he has to hi is your chest or head.. laying back to slide only aids in the momentum of your head going backwards and violently into the ground. Diving or knifing protects the back of your head from bouncing off the turf 2) YOU (the Qb) control the hit- when “knifing” down low to the ground you do so directionally away from the nearest imminent contact.
